Introducing Background Basics: Birthday Fun & Polka Dot Parade #2

Hi everyone! I hope you are all doing well. Here we are for the March Papertrey Ink countdown. I have two sets to share with you for this months release...Polka Dot Parade #2 and a new background set, Background Basics: Birthday Fun.

Gifts

Let's start with the new birthday set...

Background Basics: Birthday Fun:

  • features 2 background strips and 2 background blocks
  • will retail for $18
  • will be available for purchase starting March 15th on the Papertrey Ink website

6

This birthday card features one of the background blocks in the Background Basics: Birthday Fun set. I stamped my 3 gifts one on top of the other using Sweet Blush, Pure Poppy, Orange Zest, Summer Sunrise, Aqua Mist and Simply Chartreuse.

  7

The sentiment is from Think Big Favorites #12.

Polka Dot Parade #2:

  • features 8 images - 1 stem/leave image, 1 cluster of outlined flowers, 3 polka dot flowers, 2 sentiments including a large polka dot 'HELLO', 1 butterfly
  • will retail for $5
  • will be available for purchase starting March 15th on the Papertrey Ink website
  • has coordinating dies

16

Here is a sweet hello card featuring the polka dot posies in the new Polka Dot Parade #2 set. The flower stems/leaves are one image, making it super quick and easy when creating. There is also a cluster of four outlined flowers in the set that stamp perfectly above the stems. I didn't use that image on this card but instead just used the individual polka dot flowers.

12

'Just wanted to say' is from Heart-2-Heart #4. A strip of lace and a Pure Poppy button complete this.

18

I created a cute one layer card using a few different sets on this next card. I stamped my stems and flowers from Polka Dot Parade #2 across the front of my card. I then pulled out Hanging Out and stamped the grass image beneath the flowers. The sun is from Back Pocket Basics and then little bird is from Tweet Talk.

19

'Sending you a happy' is one of the sentiments and is separate from 'HELLO'.

21

Here is a bright and cheery card that was stamped with all three of the polka dot flowers in the set. I also used images from Everyday Button Bits for the leaves.

20

I added a strip of Hawaiian Shores cardstock, that I had stamped with the Sew Simple Borders mini set, and a few buttons.  'Sweet friend' is from Heart-2-Heart #4.

  14

For this last card I stamped the tree trunk from Tree Tops onto the front of my card and then used one of the polka dot flowers from PDP #2 to create my tree. I stamped two tiny butterflies and added a bit of twine to complete it.

That completes day 1 for me. Nichole, Betsy and Erin all have projects to share with you using both of my new sets. Plus, these ladies all have projects for you using their new products...

Flower Fusion #11 & Tree Tops - Day 4

Welcome back for day four of the Papertrey Ink December countdown. Flower Fusion #11, Tree Tops and Little Princess will all be available starting December 15th on the Papertrey Ink website.

Let's jump right into todays post, shall we!?

Quite a few of you have mentioned that you enjoy my color combinations so I'm going to continue adding them until you guys get tired of seeing them. ;)

Ff11_day4_13

Up first is this cheery card using Flower Fusion #11. I started by covering my card base with 2008 Bitty Box Basics patterned paper. I then stitched a piece of Kraft and white cardstock over that.

 Ff11_day4_11

My flower was created by using the Flower Fusion #11 tulip die. I die cut four of them and adhered them around my button. I also die cut two of the Flower Fusion stem/leaves and attached one over the other and added a string of pearls.

Ff11_day4_12

'Hello friend' is from Think Big Favorites #3.

Ff11_day4_3

Up next is another card using Flower Fusion #11. I used a piece of patterned paper from the Distressed Dots collection and adhered that over my Kraft card base.  I stamped both my sentiment, from Think Big Favorites #4,  and my stem/leave image in black ink. I die cut my tulip out of Hawaiian Shores cardstock and then stamped the inside with the solid tulip image in the FF #11 set. I added a few pearls, ribbon and a border along the bottom that was created using the Edgers #1 die.

Ff11_day4_5

This was a fun little card to create. The circle was die cut using my Spellbinders Nestability circle die. I stamped my four Berry Sorbet tulips first and then stamped the two other colors making it easier to space them just right.

Ff11_day4_6

'thinking of you' is from Borders & Corners (circle). Pearls were added around the sentiment and that was layered over a scalloped circle Nestability.

 Ff11_day4_7

How about a couple of cards using Tree Tops! I used the die from the Button Card collection as a base for my tree. After die cutting it I used the lined image from Background Basics: Retro and stamped it twice on the bottom of the button card...leaving room between the two for my sentiment. 'Thinking of you' is from Flower Fusion #7.  My tree was die cut using the Tree Tops die and then stamped with the trunk and outlined circle tree top image. I added a little glitter randomly to some of the circles, a strip of ribbon and a doily to complete it.

Ff11_day4_9

This card is pretty much the same as the one above...just flipped. 'Hello, friend!' is one of the new sentiments in Flower Fusion #11.

That's another wrap, my friends! Thanks so much for stopping by. I'll be back tomorrow to share the last of my projects with you. And as always, don't forget to check out what these ladies have to share ...

Introducing Tree Tops - Day 2

Hello again! Welcome back for day two of the December Papertrey Ink countdown. I was so happy to read your comments and e-mails yesterday about the newest addition to the Flower Fusion series. I'm thrilled that the little tulip will be a welcome addition in your craft room and can't wait to see all of your creations around the web. I'll have more projects using that set later in the week. For today I will be sharing another stamp set I have coming out this month....Tree Tops!  I gave you a little peek of one of my projects in yesterdays post.

Tree Tops:

  • features 13 images - 1 tree trunk, 1 outlined tree top, 4 patterned tree tops, 7 single images - 3 circles, 2 flowers, 1 star and 1 heart
  • will retail for $15
  • has a coordinating die
  • will be available December 15th on the Papertrey Ink website

I have a couple of masculine cards for you today using the following color combo....

Colorcombo20

  Tt_day2_3

 Tt_day2_4

Up first is a really simple card. I started with a piece of Kraft cardstock and stamped my trees in the colors shown above. This one was stamped using the star tree top.

Tt_day2_5

My sentiment, from Asian Fusion, was stamped on a circle punched out with my 1.75" circle punch. I used my paper piercer and went around, poked holes and then went back around and stitched it with twine. I added a Double Ended Banner underneath and a button to finish it.

Tt_day2_7

For this one I used Bitty Box Basics patterned paper and adhered two strips on the bottom of my card. I machine stitched and then added my twine and button. The sentiment is from Make A Wish. I die cut my tree out of white cardstock and then stamped my tree trunk and the outlined tree top. The great thing about this set is that you have so many options when creating with it. On this card I chose to use Copic markers and color my circles in but you could also use one of the 4 patterned circles to stamp inside or you could stamp one or more of the single images. You could leave it empty...you could add glitter...rhinestones...etc etc etc!! Lots of options.

I couldn't very well just make masculine cards for today so I have another color combo and two feminine cards for you. This color combo is pretty similar to the one above....I just replaced the New Leaf with Pure Poppy.
Colorcombo21

Tt_day2_8

Tt_day2_9

I used Bitty Dot Basics and Bitty Box Basics to die cut my trees for this card. The bottom of my card was embossed using the Polka Dot Basics ll Impression Plate. The sentiment, from Love Lives Here, was stamped in Pure Poppy and red twine was added to the bottom. The hearts were die cut using the Love Lives Here die set.

Tt_day2_11

I used another one of the patterned tree tops for this card. Love these little hearts! Another great thing about this set...it can be used with sooooo many different sentiments. I used 'I love you!' from Flower Fusion #6 on this card. You could also use this heart tree with sentiments from other sets like....Heart Prints, Love Songs, Simple Valentine and so many more.

I hope you have enjoyed todays post! Still lots to see from....
