Background Basics: Inspiration & Button Up - Day 5

Day  5 is here and I am back with one last post before the big Papertrey Ink release. I have truly enjoyed sharing all of my projects with you over the past five days and hope that I have inspired you just a bit with these three new sets. And as always, I have loved hearing from you and appreciate all of your excitement and kind comments.

So before we get into todays projects how about a little recap of all 3 sets...

 Bu_day5_9

Up first for today is a card featuring one of the background strips in BB: Inspiration as well as a flower with a Button Up button in the center. The flowers were die cut using the Beautiful Blooms ll #1 die collection. The pink flower was stamped with the same background image as the card and then the smaller flower and die cut button were added.

 Bu_day5_4

To finish it off I added two strips of glitter as well as a couple of die cut leaves from the Sending You die collection.

Bu_day5_8

Next up is a sweet baby card with images from Button Up and Sweet Baby. My sentiment and giraffe were placed onto a die cut frame cut from the Fillable Frames #4 die.

Bu_day5_3

I stamped all of my buttons along the bottom, added my frame to my card front and lastly added the flower, button and leaves. The leaves were die cut from the Flower Fusion stem/leave die and stamped with Flower Fusion #12.

Bu_day5_7

Lastly for today I have a Christmas card created with the Christmas Tree die .  I stamped the BB: Inspiration once again on my tree and then added two die cut buttons. The sentiment is from Holiday Button Bits.

And that completes this release for me. All of the new products will go live on the Papertrey Ink website at 10PM EST on the 15th. Until then here are a few more links for you to check out...

Flower Fusion #5, Sweet Baby & Bundle of Love - Day 5

Welcome to the final day of the Papertrey Ink countdown for this month. I have a few more cards to share with you today using Flower Fusion #5 and Sweet Baby. I've really just touched the surface of these sets as well as Bundle of Love. I have enjoyed sharing my projects and hearing all your thoughts on all three of my newest sets.

Before we get into the final post I thought I'd recap all the info on each one....

Bundle of Love

  • featuring 12 images - a stork, a baby in a cloth, 5 sentiments, 2 hearts and 3 patterned cloth pieces
  • will retail for $15
  • will be available starting June 15th on the Papertrey Ink website

Sweet Baby

  • features 13 images - 3 animal bodies...a giraffe, a lion and an elephant, 1 lion head, 5 mix and match baby words, 2 single hearts, 2 rows of hearts
  • will retail for $15
  • will be available for purchase starting June 15th on the Papertrey Ink website
  • has coordinating animals dies :)

Flower Fusion #5

  • features 6 images - 2 flowers, 1 flower center, 1 stem/leave image, 2 sentiments
  • will retail for $5
  • will be available for purchase starting June 15th on the Papertrey Ink website
  • has a coordinating flower die

 Ff5_day5_1

Up first for today...a set of coordinating cards using Flower Fusion #5! All four of these cards were created with the following colors/supplies: Simply Charetreuse and Lemon Tart cardstock, Hibiscus Bitty Dot patterned paper and Hibiscus and Harvest Gold felt.

Ff5_day5_3

For card #1 I stamped my stems/leaves onto a piece of white cardstock. I cut 6 leaves out of True Black felt and then hand stitched them with white floss. The flowers were created with the Flower Fusion #5 coordinating die and Lemon Tart cardstock. I stamped them in Hibiscus ink using the outlined flower image included in the set. The flower centers were punched out of Simply Chartreuse cardstock using a 1/2" circle punch. 'Thinking of you' is from Asian Fusion.

 Ff5_day5_4

For the 2nd card I stamped the right side in Hibiscus ink using one of the gingham images in Background Basics: Gingham. I used the Sending You die to create my base for my flower...I just turned it sideways. I used Harvest Gold felt for this flower. After running it through my die machine I stitched it using pink DMC floss.

 Ff5_day5_5

'You're the best' is included in the Flower Fusion #5 set.

Ff5_day5_10

Up next is a card I created using more Hibiscus and Harvest Gold felt and the vase from Asian Fusion. After creating the flowers with the coordinating die I cut each one in half and then rolled them to create my flowers.

Ff5_day5_9

'It's the little things you do that mean so much!' ....one of the two sentiments in the set.

Ff5_day5_11

For this last card in the set I used Tag It's #3. The circle leave image was stamped in Hibiscus. For my flower....you might remember a while back when I created THESE flowers for the Flower Fusion #1 countdown. I love making these...so, so fun! The only difference is that these ones were created with this months flower, Flower Fusion #5.

Ff5_day5_12

A couple of leaves were added to finish this one off.

Sb_day5_1

Up next is a sweet little number created with Sweet Baby! Another great thing about these animal dies, besides the fact that they save us from having to cut the animals out, is that they can be used both ways....like you see above!

Sb_day5_2

After running the die and cardstock through my die machine...one Melon Berry and one Hawaiian Shores... I stamped them both using a couple of background basics sets.  One of the flower backgrounds from Background Basics: Botanicals was stamped on the Melon Berry giraffe and the other with Background Basics: Gingham.

Sb_day5_3

I used the Button Card Collection die to create the base for my giraffes to sit on. The strip of Hawaiian Shores cardstock was stamped with one of the heart images in the Sweet Baby set. The hearts on the giraffes were created with the Love Lives Here dies. These hearts are a perfect fit for these little animals!

Sb_day5_4

I used Inside & Out Baby for my sentiment!

Well, my friends...that completes this months countdown. I hope you have all enjoyed the projects I've shared and look forward to seeing all the wonderful and creative things you create with these sets. Thank you all so, so much for visiting this week and leaving the kindest comments!

Sweet Baby & Bundle of Love - Day 3

We're half way there...welcome to day 3! Are you all ready? There is so much to see today both here and on the design teams blogs so let's not waste any time and get right to todays projects.

I have a few cards to share today using two of my new sets that will be released on the 15th...Sweet Baby and Bundle of Love! Let's start with Sweet Baby....

Sb_day3_1

I love, love, love the dies that coordinate with the set! LOVE! If you visit my blog regularly then you know how much I love to add dimension to my cards. I'm a bit of a dimension freak and have quite a stash of foam adhesive in my craft area. These dies are a big time saver!

Sb_day3_2

For todays first card I started by die cutting the 3 animals that are included in the Sweet Baby set. Were any of you thinking the third animal would be a lion?! If you notice in the die above the lion has two different images....one complete body and one head. This will give you the option of using the full body to stamp both the main body of the lion as well as his head. Or if you'd rather you could stamp his body and then stamp his head onto the separate head image. Doing it separately gives you the chance to add that dimension I was talking about! :)

 Sb_day3_3

All that talk of dimension and I didn't even add any to this first card. Using my 1.25" square punch I punched 4 different colored squares....Spring Moss, Summer Sunrise, Aqua Mist and Hawaiian Shores. I just attached my animals to the front of each square and trimmed off the over hang. I used the Polka Dot Basics ll impression plate on my Kraft cardstock. 'For the birthday boy' is from Make A Wish.

Sb_day3_4

An example of how Sweet Baby can be used for more than just baby cards.

Sb_day3_5

Here is another card using Sweet Baby. I die cut my giraffe with Terracotta Tile felt and then attached her over a doily. I cut 3 strips of cardstock....Lemon Tart, Terracotta Tile and Aqua Mist and stamped them using one of the floral images from Background Basics: Botanicals.

Sb_day3_6

To finish her off I attached a tiny pearl, a Prima flower and some PTI twine.

Bol_day3_1

And lastly for today I have another adorable card using Bundle of Love. This one was inspired by my sweet friend, Melissa Ladd. She mentioned yesterday about using the little baby in the set with a couple of other Papertrey Ink sets...Out On A Limb was one of them. I think they work perfectly together. What do you think?

Bol_day3_2

Dark Chocolate, Summer Sunrise, Hibiscus and Sweet Blush were the colors I used. The baby cloth is another one that is included in the set.

Bol_day3_3

'It's a girl' is also a part of Bundle of Love.

Nichole and the design team have lots to share today using both Sweet Baby and Bundle of Love. I was able to take a little peek at what a couple of the ladies created....believe me....you won't want to miss it!

Thanks so much for stopping by today and for your comments during the past few days! I appreciate you all so, so much!!

Happy Sunday!

Introducing Bundle of Love plus Flower Fusion #5 & Sweet Baby

Welcome to day two of this months Papertrey Ink countdown. I loved reading all your comments yesterday about Sweet Baby and Flower Fusion #5. I showed you just a little peek of those two sets but there is still lots to see. Plus, I have another set to introduce you to today....

Bundle of Love

  • featuring 12 images - a stork, a baby in a cloth, 5 sentiments, 2 hearts and 3 patterned cloth pieces
  • will retail for $15
  • will be available starting June 15th on the Papertrey Ink website

Bol_day1_1

Up first is a sweet baby girl card featuring the baby bundle in the set. I love how this little image can be used with the stork or all by itself. The colors I used for this...Hibiscus & Summer Sunrise along with Distressed Dots patterned paper. I stamped the baby bundle onto a circle of Vintage Cream cardstock. There are 3 different patterned images for the front of the bundle. For this card I used the flower print. I stamped that in Summer Sunrise onto a piece of cream cardstock and then cut it out. This bundle is so super simple to trim...just a few quick snips and that's it. I attached it to the front of my baby using foam adhesive. I used Copics to color in the other parts of the baby and cloth. I die cut a scalloped square Nestability to adhere my circle to.

Bol_day1_2

The sentiment 'Bundle of LOVE' was stamped in Dark Chocolate ink. There are two hearts in the set. I used the larger of the two to stamp the heart in LOVE. I added a little glitter to that as well as the baby's cloth.

Sb_day2_1

Next up is another sweet animal for you that is part of the Sweet Baby stamp set. An elephant...love this little guy! :) I started by die cutting 3....1 each of Simply Chartreuse, Aqua Mist and Melon Berry.

Sb_day2_2

I then stamped the polka dot elephant image onto each die in it's coordinating colors. One thing I've found that may help you if this set ends up in your cart on release night....when stamping the dotted image into the die I line up the curved part between the legs. If I focus on that part the rest tends to fall exactly where it needs to be. This goes for all the animals in the set.

Sb_day2_3

Kraft cardstock was my base for this card. I used my pinking shears to trim the sides of my white cardstock and then adhered the elephants using foam adhesive. 'Congratulations on your special delivery!' is from the Bundle of Love set.

Sb_day2_4

To complete this I added glitter to the elephants' ears and hearts. The flowers are from Prima.

Ff5_day2_1

And lastly for today another peek of Flower Fusion #5. I ran the coordinating flower die through my Cuttlebug with Berry Sorbet, Scarlet Jewel and Hibiscus cardstock.

Ff5_day2_2

I then stamped one of the flower images in the set onto each one. Before we go any further I wanted to mention a couple of things about these Flower Fusion stamp sets or any flower stamp set for that matter. Because each one is very unique and sometimes not so simple to line up the very first thing I do before stamping with them is THIS. Check out Nichole's video about lining them up. It will save you a ton of time and frustration when it comes time to stamp with them! You will be so glad you did it! :)

Ff5_day2_3

I created these three cards using a few of the flowers.

Ff5_day2_4

I used more of the Distressed Dots patterned paper for each of them. On this first one I added a Berry Sorbet flower and a scallop border - created with Papertrey's medium scalloped border die. 'Thank you' is from Flower Fusion #4. For the centers of each of the flowers I stamped Background Basics: Gingham onto Kraft cardstock and then punched them out with a 1/2" circle punch.

Ff5_day2_5

Hibiscus for this one. 'You're the best' is from Flower Fusion #5.

Ff5_day2_6

Scarlet Jewel for this one. 'It's the little things you do that mean so much! is from Flower Fusion #5!!

I hope you have enjoyed todays post! Still lots to see from....

Introducing Sweet Baby & Flower Fusion #5

Hello everyone! It's been awhile, hasn't it? Welcome to the first day of this months Papertrey Ink countdown. I have 3 new sets to introduce you to this month and I can't wait to get started. I'm going to share just two of the three sets with you today. I always like to start slow on the first day! :)

First up is a little bit of info for you...

Sweet Baby

  • features 13 images - 3 animal bodies, 1 animal head, 5 mix and match baby words, 2 single hearts, 2 rows of hearts
  • will retail for $15
  • will be available for purchase starting June 15th on the Papertrey Ink website
  • has coordinating animals dies :)

 Sb_day1_1

Up first for today are two baby cards using the adorable giraffe image in Sweet Baby.

Sb_day1_7

I used Friends 'til the End patterned paper for the baby girl card. I kept this one pretty simple by just adding a strip of lace along the side, a bow and large pearl.

Sb_day1_6

I stamped my sentiment onto an oval Nestability using two of the 5 single words included in the set. I die cut my giraffe in Summer Sunrise cardstock and stamped him in the same color.

Sb_day1_2

Now for the baby boy card. I created another giraffe the same as on the baby girl card. The patterned paper I used on this one is from the Distressed Dots collection.

Sb_day1_3

I die cut the clouds, from the Clouds 1 & 2 collection,  and then sprinkled them both with glitter. 'Sweet Boy' was stamped in Dark chocolate onto Aqua Mist cardstock. To finish it off I added some button twine and a Dark Chocolate button.

Ff5_day1_1

Flower Fusion #5

  • features 6 images - 2 flowers, 1 flower center, 1 stem/leave image, 2 sentiments
  • will retail for $5
  • will be available for purchase starting June 15th on the Papertrey Ink website
  • has a coordinating flower die

And last but not least for today is a sweet card using the new Flower Fusion set...Flower Fusion #5. I just love this new addition to the Flower Fusion series! Vintage Cream, Pure Poppy, Aqua Mist and Ripe Avacado were the colors used on this card. I started by creating my scalloped border using 2008 Bitty Dot Basics patterned paper and the medium scalloped border die.

Ff5_day1_2

For the flowers....I started by lightly drawing two simple lines down my square piece of cardstock. I then went over it with my paper piercer and made holes so that I could stitch the stem with DMC floss. I stamped my leaves onto a separate piece of cream cardstock and then trimmed them out and attached them. The flowers were stamped in Pure Poppy ink. I created this flower so that you could use a 1/2" circle punch to create the centers, like I did on this card. But there is also a circle image in the set that you could use as well. A little versatility for ya! ;)

That's a wrap for day one! A few of the other PTI gals have projects to share with you today....

  • Nichole Heady
  • Heather Nichols
  • Maile Belles
  • Dawn McVey

I'll be back tomorrow and will have more to share using these two new sets as well as the third set featuring that sweet little stork! Thanks so much for stopping in. I'll see you all tomorrow!
