Back to School:

  • features 50 images - 5 patterned apples, 1 apple stem, 7 book plates, 1 large A+, 1 large A is for, 19 sentiments, 10 numbers, 1 of each: nd, st, rd, th, 1 small apple, 1 small heart
  • will retail for $24

Polka Dot Parade #5:

  • will retail for $5
  • will be available for purchase starting June 15th on the Papertrey Ink website
  • has coordinating dies

Now let's get to the cards...

5

I had quite a few die cut pieces left over from Day 3 and decided to create another card using one of those. For this card I chose the row of books. A few other stamp sets that I used along with Back to School were Way to Go, Kiddo! for the sentiment and notebook lines and My Mother, My Friend for the floral border strip.

4

Let's end the countdown this month with a bright, cheery, HAPPY card using Polka Dot Parade #5! After cutting strips of white cardstock I stamped the word 'Happy' on each one using Summer Sunrise, Orange Zest, Hibiscus, Hawaiian Shores and Simply Chartreuse. Underneath that I stamped 'BIRTHDAY', also from this new set. My flower was created using Orange Zest felt and the Beautiful Blooms ll #2 flower die collection and the leaves were created with the Delightful Dahlia die collection.

That wraps up this release for me...hope you've enjoyed all I've shared with you. These ladies all have their final projects to share as well so be sure to pop on over and visit them...

Back to School & Polka Dot Parade #5 - Day 4

Hello everyone! I hope you are all doing well today. Are you ready for another countdown post using the new Back to School and Polka Dot Parade #5 sets? Let's jump right in ...

 5

Up first I used the fun patterned apple images from Back to School. Super simple design and lots of bright colors, which I LOVE! I had some graph paper laying around and thought it would be kinda fun to stamp onto that so that is exactly what I did. My sentiment, 'thank you', was stamped onto piece of white cardstock that was die cut with the Double-Ended Banners die. I added a pearl to finish it off.

3

More Back to School on this next card. This time I stacked my books one on top of the other. 'Student' is from Back to School and was stamped in Ripe Avocado. 'I'm so proud of you' is from Way to Go, Kiddo!

2

And lastly for today is a card using Polka Dot Parade #5. I first started by stamping the outlined daisy flower image from Flower Fusion #9 . Next, using one of the polka dot flowers from Polka Dot Parade #2 , I stamped the center of each daisy. My sentiment is a mix of a few different sets. 'Happy' is from the new Polka Dot Parade #5, 'Hello' is from Polka Dot Parade #2 and 'sweet friend' is from Heart-2-Heart #4 . My birdie was stamped in Fresh Snow ink and then her wings were die cut and stamped using Orange Zest.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I'll see you back here tomorrow with the final post for this months countdown. Be sure to stop by and see what these ladies are sharing ...

Back to School & Polka Dot Parade #5 - Day 3

I'm back for day 3 of the PTI countdown for this month...so glad you could join me! I know you have lots of other blogs to check out today so I'm going to jump right in and share my projects for the day.

5

I was feeling a little die crazy and created a bunch of different pieces for use during this months countdown. Really loving all of these bright colors together...so fun!

Using a few of the images you see above I created a couple of cards using both Back to School and Polka Dot Parade #5. The rest I will put to use later on...I always like having a variety of already stamped dies on hand.

6

For card #1 I started with a Hibiscus card base and then added some of the pre-stamped books you see above. I also added a large die cut apple and then I stamped the large A and smaller apple image directly on my card. For my sentiment I started by punching out a circle and then stamped it with the line images from Journaling Lines. I stamped 'Back to' and 'School' and then I used the die cut '2' and covered the word 'to'. To finish I added a bit of Summer Sunrise ribbon.

3

For card #2 I used the new Polka Dot Parade set. I stamped my bird onto white cardstock using Hawaiian Shores ink and then die cut her wings, stamped them and adhered them to her body. 'Happy', 'Birthday' and 'to you' are all separate images within the set. I used the medium scallop border die to create my scallops and the double-ended banner dies to stamp my sentiment on. Lastly, I added a strip of white ribbon, a white crochet flower and and Orange Zest button.

Nichole and Jessica Witty will be sharing projects using the new Polka Dot Parade #5 set and these ladies also have projects to share using their new sets...

  • Maile Belles
  • Dawn McVey
  • Heather Nichols

I'll see you all tomorrow for day 4. Have a great day!

~Melissa

Introducing Back to School & Polka Dot Parade #5

Hi there everyone! Seems like it's been forever since I've blogged. I'm happy to be back and to be sharing my two latest Papertrey Ink stamp sets with you, Back to School and Polka Dot Parade #5. Both of my new sets, as well as the sets being previewed by the rest of the Papertrey Ink team, will be released and available for purchase starting the 15th.

Let's talk about Back to School first. This set is jam packed full of images such as apples, bookplates, sentiments for teachers, a set of numbers, sentiments and images to cover every year from nursery school to 12th grade and few other bits and pieces. Not only is this set going to work well for creating cards but also for documenting your child's school years in a scrapbook. Here is the set breakdown...

Up first is Back to School:

  • features 50 images - 5 patterned apples, 1 apple stem, 7 book plates, 1 large A+, 1 large A is for, 19 sentiments, 10 numbers, 1 of each: nd, st, rd, th, 1 small apple, 1 small heart
  • will retail for $24
  • will be available for purchase starting June 15th on the Papertrey Ink website
  • has coordinating dies

Let's get started with todays projects. I chose one of my favorite color combos for today...Hawaiian Shores, Pure Poppy, Summer Sunrise and Simply Chartreuse.

11

For my first three cards I used the same layout and started by stamping the bottom portion of my Hawaiian Shores cardbase using the Polka Dot Basics stamp set. I die cut a piece of white cardstock using the Spiral Notebook Page die and then stamped a few of my images from the new Back to School set. 'A is for' is one image and was stamped in Summer Sunrise. Underneath that I stamped one of the patterned apples in the set along with the apple stem. You also have the option to stamp the actual word 'APPLE' underneath instead of the apple image if you choose to.

10

Lastly I added a lace doily and a red and white gingham bow topped off with a Simply Chartreuse button.

6

Next up...same layout just a different apple and sentiment!

7

'My teacher ROCKS!' - love this!

8

For the last card using the Back to School set I used a few of the bookplate images. There are a total of 7 bookplates to choose from in the set...some patterned, some with writing and some allowing you to stamp inside.

9

After stamping my bookplates how I wanted I added couple of small apples and the sentiment 'thank you' to complete it. The possibilities with not only these bookplates but the whole set itself is endless!!

Up next is Polka Dot Parade #5:

  • features 14 images - 1 bird, 1 polka dot bird belly, 1 polka dot bird wing, 1 set of bird legs, 1 small flower, 3 music notes, 6 mix & match sentiments including a large polka dot 'HAPPY'
  • will retail for $5
  • will be available for purchase starting June 15th on the Papertrey Ink website
  • has coordinating dies

13

I've been wanting a larger bird to add to my stamp collection for some time now and here he finally is! There are 3 dies for Polka Dot Parade #5...the bird, the belly and the wing. I used all three of them for this card. Along the top and bottom I stamped a border of flowers using the tiny flower image in the set. And lastly my sentiment...'Don't worry, be HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY! This makes me chuckle....if any of you watch Duck Dynasty like my family does then you will know why! ;)  Oh and we can't forget the bitty music notes...love those little things.

There is still SOOO much more to these sets...just giving you a little taste for today! I hope you've enjoyed. There are more Back to School projects for you to see over on Betsy Veldman's blog and you won't want to miss them. And these ladies will be sharing projects using their new sets as well...

Until tomorrow...I hope you have a happy, happy, happy day! :)

Polka Dot Parade #4 - Day 5

Welcome back for the final day of the Papertrey Ink countdown for this month. Thanks so much for visiting with me over the past five days and for sharing your comments with me on my newest set, Polka Dot Parade #4. Before I get to todays cards let me give you a little recap...

Polka Dot Parade #4:
  • features 15 images
  • will retail for $5
  • will be available for purchase starting May 15th on the Papertrey Ink website
  • has coordinating dies

**The release party starts at 7am tomorrow morning in the Papertrey Ink forum and all of the new products will go live on the Papertrey Ink website tomorrow, the 15th at 10PM.**

66

For this first card I used the Polka Dot Parade #4 coordinating die collection and die cut the stroller out of some colorful patterned paper that I had on hand (from Martha Stewart). After die cutting it I trimmed the wheels and handle off and then adhered it to my cardstock. I then stamped the wheels and handle in Pure Poppy using the images in the set.

64

'Congratulations on the birth of your' is from Inside & Out: Baby. I stamped 'BABY', from Polka Dot Parade #4, in Pure Poppy, added a die cut Sweet Blush strip of Rickrack and an Aqua Mist button to finish it.

67

For the second card of the day I used the same patterned paper as I used on the first card and die cut the letters you see using the Block Alphabet Upper die collection. I stamped my bear in Pure Poppy and then adhered the letters on either side to spell out 'BABY'.

62

I added the polka dot belly and paws to my bear as well as a die cut bow. Lastly, I stamped the sentiment, from Bundle of Love.

That completes the countdown for me. I hope you have enjoyed the projects I've shared with you over the past five days and hope that I've given you a bit of inspiration when using this new set. Don't forget to stop by and see what final projects these ladies have to share....

Polka Dot Parade #4 - Day 4

Welcome! Day four of the Papertrey Ink countdown has arrived which means we are one day closer to release night. YAY! I have two more cards for you today using the newest Polka Dot Parade set...one a baby card and one card that could be used for a child. Thought I'd show how this set could be used for more than just baby cards. ;)

59

Let's start with a birthday card. I kept everything pretty clean and simple for today...not much layering or extra embellishing. I started by stamping my bear in Orange Zest ink and then stamped his paws and belly in Aqua Mist. I mixed a few different sets in with the new Polka Dot Parade #4 set. The balloon is from Heart-2-Heart #2. After stamping the balloon next to my bear I adhered a small die cut bow to the balloon string that is from the Polka Dot Parade #4 die collection.

58

'Happy Birthday' is from Think Big Favorites #12 and 'You're one great kid!' is from Way to Go, Kiddo!

53

Next is a colorful baby card. This card reminds me of The Care Bears from when I was young. Remember those? Again, I started with a white card base and stamped my bears along the side in a variety of colors...Sweet Blush, Hibiscus, Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores, Orange Zest and Simple Chartreuse.

57

In the centers of all of my bears I stamped a tiny heart which can be found in any of the Heart-2-Heart stamp sets. The 'Cute & cuddly' sentiment is from Baby Button Bits and 'BABY' is from Polka Dot Parade #4. And lastly a Hawaiian Shores button was attached!

And that my friends, is another wrap for me! Only one day to go before the release but until then be sure to stop by and say hello to the rest of the PTI gang.

See you all tomorrow! :)

Polka Dot Parade #4 - Day 3

**Happy Mother's Day to all of you wonderful Mom's out there!**

I'm back...phew! All I can say is thank Goodness for my husband, otherwise I would still be at a loss as to what my computer problem was! :) Thank you all for understanding my missing blog post yesterday and thank you for visiting my Facebook Page to see my projects.

This Papertrey Ink release is quite amazing, isn't it? I'm loving all of the new sets that are coming out. All of the new products you've been seeing, as well as my newest set...Polka Dot Parade #4, will be available starting the 15th on the Papertrey Ink website.

Are you ready for a few more baby cards?! I hope so...let's jump right in...

  45

I used the sweet teddy bear and it's coordinating die for this first card. After stamping her in Raspberry Fizz I adhered her to the front of my white cardstock. The bottom of my white cardstock was die cut using the Medium Scallop border die. My sentiment includes four separate words which allow you to create a variety of different sayings for your projects. Here are just a few other sentiments you can create using the words in this set...

  • sweet BABY
  • sweet little BABY
  • new BABY
  • welcome BABY
  • new little BABY
  • hello BABY
  • hello little BABY
  • hello new BABY

and more!!

49

I added a doily underneath and attached a strip of Sweet Blush ribbon, Lemon Tart dotted ribbon and a Lemon Tart button before attaching it all to my card front.

51

This mini 3x4 card features the stroller image from Polka Dot Parade #4 as well as images from a couple other sets of mine that were released awhile back. The sun and clouds are from the Heart-2-Heart #6 stamp set and die collection and the grass, flowers and sentiment are from Hanging Out.

41

Up next is another girly baby card. I started by die cutting a tag using the Tag Sale #1 die and then stamped the word 'BABY' down the front using Lemon Tart, Sweet Blush and Raspberry Fizz ink.

46

I die cut my bear and stamped her in Lemon Tart and then stamped her belly and paws in Raspberry Fizz. Love those separate belly and paw pieces!! I added stitching along the Raspberry Fizz strips using the Sew Simple Borders Mini stamp set. And lastly, I added a few layered flowers...the white and pink ones are by Prima and the yellow one was die cut out of Harvest Gold felt using the Heart-2-Heart #7 die.

That wraps up day three for me. Here are a few other stops for you that you will not want to miss...

Introducing Polka Dot Parade #4 - Day 1

Hello everyone! It's been quite awhile since I've seen you all...welcome! I have been such a bad blogger lately but I am back for this months Papertrey Ink countdown and have been looking forward to sharing my newest stamp set with you. Polka Dot Parade #4 is this months set and it features the polka dot word 'BABY' and a few sweet baby images. Here are the details ...

Polka Dot Parade #4:

  • features 12 images
  • will retail for $5
  • will be available for purchase starting May 15th on the Papertrey Ink website
  • has coordinating dies

24

I used traditional baby colors for todays cards...Sweet Blush, Lemon Tart, Aqua Mist and Spring Moss. I started by stamping the teddy bear image (soooo love this little guy) across the bottom portion of my card using the colors I just mentioned. Next, I adhered a piece of Bitty Dot Basics patterned paper across the top and a strip of Aqua Mist ribbon. I then die cut the frame image from the My Mother, My Friend die collection and stamped my sentiment. There are a variety of different sentiments you will be able to create with this little set. I'll be showing you more of those over the next four days. To finish my first card off I die cut a couple of flowers using the Heart-2-Heart #7 die collection and stamped each one with thier coordinating Heart-2-Heart #7 stamp set. I adhered those to either side of my frame and then added Lemon Tart buttons to their centers.

22

Lots and lots of polka dots for you on card #2. I started with my white cardstock and stamped 'BABY' multiple times down the front using the same colors as on card #1. Above 'BABY' I stamped the word 'sweet'...included in the PDP #4 set. Next, I die cut a scalloped border using the medium scallop border die. That was stamped using the Polka Dot Basics stamp set and then adhered across my card front. I added a strip of pink rick rack and crocheted flowers that I had on hand and a couple of strips of Lemon Tart Satin Dot ribbon to complete it.

That is all I have for today but both Nichole and Betsy will be sharing projects with you using this new set. You won't want to miss it!

Also, these ladies have lots to share as well...

  • Heather Nichols
  • Dawn McVey
  • Maile Belles

Thanks so much for taking the time to visit with me today. Hope to see you right back here tomorrow. Until then, I hope you all have a wonderful, happy day!

Polka Dot Parade #3 - Day 4

Happy Saturday! I'm back with a fun retro card to share with you today using the new Polka Dot Parade set.

*Polka Dot Parade #3 along with all of the other new products will be available for purchase starting April 15th on the Papertrey Ink website.*

 10

I've mixed a few sets up with the PDP #3 set to create this card. I cut 6 - 1/2" strips of cardstock out of the following colors...Pure Poppy, Orange Zest, Summer Sunrise, Simply Chartreuse, Hawaiian Shores and Plum Pudding. I adhered those on the front of my card to create my 'rainbow' effect. Next, I stamped RELAX in Smokey Shadow and 'It's your day!' just below it in the same color. 'Love' is from Heart-2-Heart #11 and so is the heart inside the tv. I die cut my tv using the coordinating die collection and then stamped it using Simply Chartreuse ink. To finish my card off I added a strip of glitter along the top and voila!!

I love all of the positive feedback I've been getting about this little $5 set. Makes me happy, happy, happy! :) Thanks everyone! I hope you all have a fabulous day...thanks again for stopping in!

~Melissa
