Introducing Floral Foliage

Ff_day1_4

Welcome to day 1 of the July Papertrey Ink countdown! I have a few new sets that I will be sharing with you over the next five days but for today I am going to focus on just one of them....Floral Foliage. Here are the details...

Floral Foliage

  • features 4 images - 1 floral tree top, 1 tree trunk, a cluster of flowers and 1 sentiment
  • will retail for $5
  • will be available for purchase starting July 15th on the Papertrey Ink website
  • has a coordinating die

I know how much we all love $5 sets and this one will be perfect for sending cards to all of our friends who mean so much to us!!

Ff_day1_2

For both cards I started by adhering a piece of polka dot paper, from Funky Town, onto the front of my card base. I die cut two trees using the die that coordinates with Floral Foliage and adhered them to the front of my card using dimensional adhesive. Next came my sentiment and  a few other little extras...on this one a bow and pearls.

And on this one more pearls and a butterfly that I've had in my stash for years ( I believe it's from Jolee's).  It's finally found a home on this tree!

Keeping it super short for today but I will be back tomorrow morning with projects using my other two sets! I hope you all have a wonderful day...thanks so much for stopping by!

Introducing Flower Fusion #6 & Funky Town

Hi everyone! Here we are on day 2 of this months Papertrey Ink countdown. Thank you all for your comments and e-mails yesterday. I'm thrilled that you like what you've seen of Sweet As Can Be. It really is just a sweet and fun set to create with. I'll have more projects using that set later this week. I thought for today I would share a few cards using my new addition to the Flower Fusion collection...Flower Fusion #6. This set features a sweet layered flower and fun plaid patterned leaves.

Flower Fusion #6

  • features 8 images - 2 flowers, 1 flower center, 1 stem/leave image, 4 sentiments
  • will retail for $5
  • will be available for purchase starting July 15th on the Papertrey Ink website
  • has a coordinating flower die

I'm so excited for this months release not only for the release of Sweet As Can Be, Flower Fusion #6 and Hanging out but also for the release of my new patterned paper collection....FUNKY TOWN!! You all got a peek of this on Nichole's blog yesterday.  The colors in the collection are Raspberry Fizz, Hawaiian Shores, Simple Chartreuse and Aqua Mist! So bright and cheery and definitely my favorite colors to use together!!

For this first card I used the 3 polka dot sheets from Funky Town and cut each one in a 1.5" X 4.25" strip. I adhered those across my card front and then zig zag stitched. I used the frame die & stamp image from Sending You to create the base for my sentiment and flower. 'From me to you...' was stamped in True Black ink. I used some Hawaiian Shores felt and the Flower Fusion #6 die to create my flower. The stem and leaves were stamped on Simply Chartreuse cardstock and then I just trimmed out the leaves and attached them to my flower.

I used the left over pieces of patterned paper from the strips I cut in the card above to create this next card. I did some zig zag stitching once again and then attached the polka dot paper to my white card base with foam adhesive. The strip of white cardstock was stamped with one of the sentiments from Think Big Favorites #3 and the stem/leave image from Flower Fusion #6. The larger Raspberry Fizz flower was created with the Beautiful Blooms #2 die. I layered another Hawaiian Shores felt flower over that and then finished it with a Simply Chartreuse button.

Lastly for today is a card I created with some left overs I had laying around in my stash. The large white rectangle was created with the Button Card collection die. I stamped my stem/leaves in Simply Chartreuse and then created my flower using the Flower Fusion #6 die and Raspberry Fizz cardstock. The flower was stamped with the outlined flower image that is included in the set.

When I created this set for the Flower Fusion series I thought I'd make the sentiments so they would allow you to carry them over to the inside of your card. That's what I did here. 'I thank you' is one of the sentiments in the set. And 'From me to you...' can be used with almost ALL of the other Flower Fusion sets that have been released so far.

From me to you...

  • Have a wonderful day! (#1)
  • Miss you! (#1)
  • How are you? (#1)
  • I appreciate you! (#2)
  • You made my day! (#3)
  • Thanks for making me smile! (#3)
  • Thank you! (#4)
  • I couldn't have done it without you! (#4)
  • You're the best! (#5)

I hope that you've enjoyed todays projects. Tomorrow I'll have projects to share with you using my final set being released this month...Hanging Out! Be sure to pop on over to visit these talented ladies. There is still a ton to see!
