Hello, Hello, Hello everyone! :)
I'm back for day two of this months Papertrey Ink countdown and I have A LOT of projects to share with you today. Both of my new sets, My Mother, My Friend and Polka Dot Parade #1 will be available starting February 15th on the Papertrey Ink website. Until then, you can pop in here to see what I've created with both of these sets.
Let's get started. Grab yourself a cup of tea or coffee, sit back and enjoy!
You may have noticed that in my past countdown posts I'm really big on creating multiple projects using the same color scheme and elements for each of my cards. I find I'm way more creative and focused when I do that. I started doing that quite awhile back and it has stuck with me. I've tried mixing it up a bit but I am never happy with the results so I'm just going to go with what feels good and hope that you are all ok with seeing multiple cards with all the same colors. ;)
So for todays projects I started with what you see above...my key pieces for each of my cards. I cut multiple 3/4" strips of Hawaiian Shores, Orange Zest, Hibiscus and Summer Sunrise cardstock. Using a variety of different images in My Mother, My Friend, I stamped each strip using their matching ink colors.
After they were all stamped I used some of them to assemble my first card.
I used the large frame die, from My Mother, My Friend, for my sentiment. 'Happy Birthday' and 'Mom' are two separate images. Lastly, a piece of Hawaiian Shores ribbon and an Orange Zest button were added.
Card #2: Using more of those stamped strips I adhered a few shorter ones to a piece of white cardstock. Next, I die cut the word 'blessed' using the Counting My Blessings die collection.
I put a few different stamp sets to use for this one. After adhering more of my strips to the bottom and side of my card I added my 'blessed'. I pulled out one of my older sets, Heartfelt Basics, and used one of the sentiments in that set to stamp above and below 'blessed'.
I die cut one of the flowers from My Mother, My Friend, stamped it with Hawaiian Shores ink and adhered it over the 'd'. To complete the card I added a Hawaiian Shores button and two leaves that were die cut from the Heart-2-Heart #7 die collection and stamped with the tiny floral background from My Mother, My Friend.
And here is another card for Mom. I used both the small and large frame dies on this one as well as the vine die and one of the flower dies.
Now we are going to move onto Polka Dot Parade #1 and that cute little bunny. After adhering more strips to a piece of white cardstock I decided to die cut him out of the center.
Let me just say that I have been DYING to add a white little pom pom for his tail. :) So fun! I added a vine die along the bottom, a Summer Sunrise bow and the sentiment, Happy Easter.
I couldn't let that little die cut bunny go to waste so I created another card using him. The Chartreuse frame and Hawaiian Shores vine are from My Mother, My Friend.
Are you still with me?! I have one last card...something just sweet and simple. Using the two tiny flowers included in Polka Dot Parade #1, I stamped a row of colorful blooms across the bottom. The sentiment is 3 separate images 'Here comes the' , 'Easter' and 'Bunny'. Lastly, I die cut my bunny out of Hawaiian Shores cardstock and stamped his polka dot body in the same color. His little tail was die cut out of Orange Zest.
And that is the end of todays projects for me! There is still so much to see so be sure to stop by and say hello to these ladies...

I love your color scheme today Melissa! So happy and cheerful and springlike! Such a great idea to diecut "blessed" from the different strips adhered together. AND I LOVE the bunny's white pom pom tail! :)

First time I saw your new set I fell in love with the bunny's tail. I envisioned a little white pom pom or cotton ball tail. So cute, Melissa.

Yes, I mind seeing all these fantastic cards made from an original theme! These are fabulous! Love the colors you chose, and making your own paper from paper strips. I keep forgetting about that, but I won't after this post. I think this is one of my favorite posts...and that's saying a lot. Thanks again for sharing your creativity and great sense of fun.
PS This feels like a good idea for a MIM.
