Welcome everyone to the first day of the June Papertrey Ink countdown. I’m so glad you all could join me. This month I have three new sets to share with you, the fifth set in the Heart-2-Heart series and two sets that are geared towards supporting all of the men and women who serve in our armed forces.
First up for today...
- features 11 images - 4 flags, 1 flag line, 1 bow image, 1 small heart and 4 sentiments
- will retail for $5
- will be available for purchase starting June 15th on the Papertrey Ink website
- has coordinating dies
Here is a shot of the flags that I die cut and stamped for my projects. The coordinating die has four flags in it so that you can die cut more than one at a time.
Here is a simple card to start with. I started with my Aqua Mist card base and then layered a piece of Stampers Select white over that. I stamped my flag line and the little bow on either side and then added my die cut flags. 'Celebrate' is one of the sentiments included in the set. That was stamped in black and then another one of the sentiments in the set was stamped just underneath it, 'It's your special day'. I created a matching tag using the Tag Sale Die #1.
For this next card using Heart-2-Heart #5 I thought it would be fun to create a sun out of them. I started by punching out a piece of white cardstock using my 1.75 circle punch. Inside that I stamped one of the circle images from Borders & Corners {Circle} stamp set. The sentiment was stamped using two separate stamp sets....'hello' is from Heart-2-Heart #4 and 'Sunshine' is from Back Pocket Basics. I added all of my flags around my sentiment, a strip of washi tape and some ribbon to finish it off.
Up next are the two military stamp sets...
- features 35 sentiments
- will retail for $24
- will be available for purchase starting June 15th on the Papertrey Ink website
- all of my proceeds from this set will go to The Wounded Warrior Project
- features 15 images - 11 patterned stars, 3 small stars, 1- 1.75" circle star image
- will retail for $24
- will be available for purchase starting June 15th on the Papertrey Ink website
I was so happy that these two sets were chosen for the 2012-2013 Papertrey Ink line up. Many of you may not know that we were a military family for a little over 15 years. My husband served in the army and we were fortunate enough to be stationed in some of the most beautiful locations… Germany, Alaska and TN. Unfortunately, during his second deployment
in Iraq he was injured severely and because of that his military career and our military life came to a screeching halt.
The Wounded Warrior Project is an amazing organization that helps our injured servicemen and women, including my husband, in a variety of different areas after they have returned home. These men and women have gone through so much to protect our freedom. We can not forget about them!! All of my proceeds from Military Hero will be going to The Wounded Warrior Project. If you would like to help in some way, whether it be a monetary donation, volunteering or even sending a thank you to a wounded serviceman or woman, check out the information HERE!
The stars in the Military Stars set coordinate with the smallest star in the Seeing Stars die collection. I stamped one fo the star images inside the die cut piece and added a button to the center before adhering it to my card. To create the letters for my card I used the Block Alphabet dies.
'Welcome home' is from Military Hero.
For this final card I used one of the larger stars in the Seeing Stars die collection and placed it underneath my 'thank you' star. I stamped a border of stars along the bottom using one of the smaller star images in the Military Stars set. The sentiment is from Military Hero.
That is all for me today. I hope you've enjoyed the projects I've shared with you...thank you so much for taking the time to stop by. Nichole and Danielle are sharing projects with you today using Heart-2-Heart #5 and Dawn and Heather have projects for you using their new sets as well.
I'll have lots more for you tomorrow! Until then, have a wonderful Sunday!

Clever use of the pennants! Is the Washi tape a 'sneak peak'?

Beautiful cards, Melissa. ;-) I can't tell you how happy I am to see these Military stamp sets - they fill such a gap for needed cards these days! Thank you, again, to you and your husband, and all your family - you all make sacrifices most of us can never imagine and understand. May God bless you all!! And I appreciate your generosity in donating to the Wounded Warrior project, such a wonderful cause.
I also love the banner Heart-2-Heart set. I know I will get a lot of use from that, as well. Another wonderful month from you - I always enjoy using my Melissa B. stamp sets when they arrive. ;-)
Cheers and best wishes to you!

Love the flags and having 4 in one die! The shapes will be so versatile. I make cards for Operation Write Home, so I'm really happy to see the military hero /military stars sets. Thank you to your husband, and to you and your family.

Three great sets, Mel! The banner dies are nice and I like your sample cards. The military sets will be a very welcomed addition to my collection. I did not know your husband was a VET who had been injured. I hope he is able to get the assistance he needs from these organizations. Your written words showed your passion for the good these organizations do. It is noble and kind of you to donate the proceeds. Prayers and blessings to you all. Gabby :)

Melissa - you knocked it out of the park again with this month's Heart-2-Heart banner image. Your military sets are beautiful and so important. How generous of you to donate your proceeds to the Wounded Warrior project. It is truly a worthy organization.

I can always count on wonderful stamps from Melissa J Designs. I never got all that banner stuff a while back but now with your little set it is just what I need. I read your military story back when your husband was returning back home to the New England area. I thank your family for the sacrifices you made to keep this country free. Like the saying goes, "Freedom is not free" and hope that your husband has totally recouperated. The military stamps were a set greatly needed and now that need has been beautifully filled. Thank you.

Melissa - Please tell your husband how much my family and I appreciate his service to our country and your entire families sacrifices. I am very appreciative of these new stamp sets and the generousity of your donating to such a wonderful organization. I am going to click the link and see what it is all about. I just lost my husband to cancer and when I was visiting the cemetary yesterday a new grave was there from a young man who had died while serving in the marines. I can only imagine what it is like to lose your life and/or be injured and have your life changed forever. I will keep your husband and family in my prayers. God Bless you all and God Bless the USA! :) Jill

Thinking of you and your husband and everything you've been through. Thanks. And thank you for making these military sets and for donating to Wounded Warriors. We lost one family member in Iraq and another one just lost his legs in Afghanistan. I know Wounded Warriors will be an encouragement to him as well as these cards. Wishing you the best.
