Lighten Up & Heart-2-Heart #1 - Day 5

Welcome to the final day of this months Papertrey Ink countdown. I have really enjoyed sharing these past five days with you and hope that I've been able to inspire you a  little with my three new sets that will be released tomorrow...Lighten Up, Lighten Up Sentiments and Heart-2-Heart #1. Before we jump into todays cards let me recap all three sets for you...

I have lots of pink and lots of flowers for you today! :-)

 

Let's start with Heart-2-Heart #1. I started by cutting three strips of Bitty Box Basics patterned paper and stitched them to my card base. I used the group of hearts that are in the Heart-2-Heart #1 set and stamped a border below the patterned paper. My cup is sitting on a circle I punched out using my 1.75" circle punch. I stamped a border around the circle using one of the images from Borders & Corners {Circle} stamp set.

 

I added a sweet little flower to my cup along with a couple of leaves from Flower Fusion #4. 'Let's get together' was stamped in Dark Chocolate and a few pearls were added to finish it.

 

I used the same patterned paper on this next card. Using my circle punch again I punched out 4 circles and then stamped them with the same circle image as on the first card. I punched and stamped a white circle and then added my lamp pieces from Lighten Up. I used Aqua Mist felt for my lamp shade on this one and then added more flowers and leaves. 'Let your light shine! is part of the $5 Lighten Up Sentiments set.

 

More Lighten Up on this next card. I did some stitching around the border and then trimmed the edges with my pinking shears. The lamp is sitting on piece of white cardstock that I die cut using one of the Half & Half dies. 'Choose to shine!' is another sentiment from the Lighten Up Sentiments set. A lace doily, pearls and a button complete this one.

And last but not least for today is this little number. I love crisp white cardstock and pops of color. Using that swirly circle again I created a patterned background using Raspberry Fizz, Ripe Avocado, Aqua Mist and Dark Chocolate. 

I did a little stitching on my felt lamp shade and added that above my Kraft lamp stand. I added a strip of Bitty Box Basics, Aqua Mist ribbon, a flower, leaves and my sentiment, 'You brighten my day!', from Lighten Up Sentiments.

Lighten Up & Heart-2-Heart #1 - Day 4

Hello again and welcome to day 4 of this months Papertrey Ink countdown. I hope you all enjoyed your weekend. I have more projects to share with you today using my latest sets that will be released on the 15th...Lighten Up, Lighten Up Sentiments and Heart-2-Heart #1.

I love fabric lamp shades and have been on the search for a few for my home. I thought it would be kind of fun to create a few patterned ones using my new set, Lighten Up along with some pretty Heather Bailey patterned paper.

After running the paper and Lighten Up dies through my die machine I stamped the shades using the outlined lamp images in the set.

All of my cards today measure 3.5 x 5. I added a few Jolee's Boutique flowers, pearls and some ribbon on this first card. Someone asked yesterday how I wrinkled the ribbon. I first saw this on Lisa Johnson's blog so I must give her the credit. I used Raspberry Fizz Saddle Stitch ribbon and pulled the white stitching on either end to get the wrinkle effect. Easy peasy! Lastly, I added my sentiment which is from Lighten Up Sentiments.

I had so much fun creating the card from yesterday using On My Couch that I had to create another one. This card uses elements from both On My Couch and On My Couch Additions. The sentiment on this one is from Lighten Up.

 

I flipped my lamps around on this next one. More flowers and pearls were added as well as some Spring Moss ribbon. This sentiment is from Lighten Up.

 

'Shine It's your day!' is from Lighten Up. A strip of glitter, a few pearls and a tiny flower complete this one.

And this last card using Lighten Up also has the rug from On My Couch Additions as well as that sweet little kitty cat from Tiny Treats: Valentine. I colored her in with Copics, added a strip of glitter above along with my sentiment, from Lighten Up.

I continued my patterns over to my Heart-2-Heart #1 coffee cozies!  

I die cut and stamped all my images using the coordinating Heart-2-Heart #1 die. I then stamped all of my coffee cup images onto separate pieces of patterned paper and then trimmed just the center out and attached it to my die cut cup. The steam image is from Warm Happiness. 'Let's get together for tea!'

and 'for coffee!'

Lighten Up & Heart-2-Heart #1 - Day 3

Hello again everyone! Day three has arrived which means only two more days until all of these new Papertrey Ink products you've been seeing will be available. Lighten Up, Lighten Up Sentiments and Heart-2-Heart #1 will all be available starting February 15th on the Papertrey Ink website. Let's get started with todays projects, shall we....

I was in a purple and green mood when I was creating the other day so all of todays cards are using those colors. I have to laugh at myself a little because a few years ago I was not a fan of purple at all....didn't create with it and I didn't wear it. Then one day that all changed...I don't know how but it did and now I LOVE purple. In fact, it's probably one of my favorite colors to wear or stamp with. Next to pink, of course! ;)

This first card you see above was super quick and easy to make. I used Distressed Dots patterned paper on my card base and then added a piece of white cardstock on top. That was stamped with one of the lamp stand images in Lighten Up and one of the sentiments from Lighten Up Sentiments. I die cut one of the lamp shades and stamped the floral lamp shade image in Scarlet Jewel ink. To finish it I added some Lavender Moon ribbon.

For this next one I used more of the Distressed Dots patterned paper. The lamp was die cut with the coordinating Lighten Up dies, stamped and then adhered over one of the die images from the Half & Half die collection. I added some stitching, ribbon and a couple of tiny flowers to complete this card.

This was a fun little card to create. I pulled out On My Couch and On My Couch Additions and thought it would be fun to use the three sets together. I used the coordinating On My Couch die and die cut the couch using Lavender Moon cardstock. I die cut all of my lamp pieces and stamped the coordinating images inside and then adhered them next to my couch.  

I added the cute little cat and my sentiment as well as a couple strips of pearls. If you notice one of the pillows is the same pattern as the lamp. I stamped the lamp onto a separate piece of white cardstock and then stamped the outlined pillow image over top of that and trimmed it out and adhered it to my couch.  

Last for today is this sweet card using Heart-2-Heart #1. More Distressed Dots...a doily...a Lavender Moon scalloped border...Scarlet Jewel ribbon...a flower...

and of course that adorable little coffee cup! I added more of the Distressed Dots pp (in Scarlet Jewel) for my cozy center. 'Sip & relax' is from Tea for Two.

Lighten Up & Heart-2-Heart #1 - Day 2

Happy Saturday everyone! Welcome to day 2 of the  Papertrey Ink  February release countdown. I'm so happy to hear that you are enjoying the peeks of Lighten Up and Heart-2-Heart #1. I have more to share with you today so lets jump right in.

Up first is this little number. I love these colors together. Hawaiian Shores, Summer Sunrise, Kraft and white...so out of my norm but I know I will be using them often. I started with my Hawaiian Shores card base and then layered a piece of white cardstock on top that I had stamped using the Background Basics: Chevron Stripes.

I then die cut my lamp pieces and stamped them with the coordinating images in Lighten Up. I added glitter to the shade and then attached it all to an oval Nestability. I added my sentiment, some Summer Sunrise ribbon and a button to finish it.

For my second card I started by die cutting a bunch of the Heart-2-Heart coffee cups. I used the 3 cozy images from the set and stamped the middles of three of them and then used other Papertrey Ink sets for some of the others... Chevron Stripes, Background Basics: Gingham and Little Bitty Bird. I also used Bitty Dot Basics patterned paper on a couple of them.

I added a strip of Bitty Dot Basics paper to the bottom of my card base and then a strip of glitter above that.

I stamped my sentiment 'Let's get together for tea!' on the piece of white cardstock, adhered that over a piece of Kraft and then trimmed the side with my pinking shears. I used two of the die cut coffee cups that I created above and added those above my sentiment and a button to complete it!

Short and sweet for today but I will be back with lots more tomorrow. Nichole is highlighting both of my new sets on her blog today and these ladies all have more to share so you won't want to miss it!

Welcome everyone to day 1 of the Papertrey Ink release countdown for February. There have been so many new and exciting things happening over on Nichole's blog in celebration of Papertrey's five year anniversary. To kick off today I have some projects for you using 3 of my new sets coming out this month....Lighten Up, Lighten Up Sentiments and Heart-2-Heart #1!

Let's start with all the details of the first two sets....

I seem to be using white cardstock quite a lot lately so that's what I used for the base for all of my cards today. I added a piece of 2008 Bitty Dot Basics patterned paper and adhered my lamp over that. My sentiment 'You light up my life!' was stamped on a Double-Ended Banner and then I layered a doily underneath.  A Raspberry Fizz bow was added last. 

Next up is this clean and simple card. I just randomly stamped my bases and shades in Spring Moss, Ripe Avocado, Ocean Tides and Raspberry Fizz. I stamped another one of the Lighten Up sentiments in black to finish it. 

I used a variety of dies and Lighten Up stamps on this card along with a strip of 2008 Bitty Dot Basics pp. To complete this one I added some Fresh Snow ribbon and a button along with another one of the Lighten Up sentiments.

Now let's move onto some projects using the first image in the Heart-2-Heart series. I'm a coffee junkie! Big time! There is nothing quite like a cup of coffee, tea, chai or hot chocolate to make your day just a little bit better. So I'm super excited about this first little $5 set.

Heart-2-Heart #1:

I started by using the Polka Dot Basics ll impression plate on my card base. I then added a couple or borders I created using the Edgers #1 die collection along the top and also added a strip of glitter. I die cut my cups and then did a bit of paper piecing with some patterned paper. The hearts on the cups were die cut from the Love Lives Here dies. 'Let's get together' is a separate image so you could use it alone or you could add one of the 3 additional sentiments with it. On this one I stamped 'for some girl talk!' Who doesn't love getting together with a good friend, a hot cup of coffee and some girl talk! :-)

Lastly for today I have another CAS card. I stamped all of my cups in black ink and then went back over each one using a different cozy and color of ink to fill the middle.  I added another border created with the Edger #1 die and a button as well as my sentiment.

Designing with Papertrey

Hello everyone and welcome to the second day of the Papertrey Ink anniversary festivities. There are so many exciting things going on and I am so, so happy to be a part of it. Yesterday, day 1, Nichole's post featured all of the ladies on the design team and today is all about the stamp designers! 

Nichole asked all of us to create an image for todays contest and this is what I came up with.... 

I thought with Valentine's Day right around the corner this may be fun to create a sweet card for someone special. The colors I used ...Raspberry Fizz, Summer Sunrise, Simply Chartreuse and Hawaiian Shores.

I created two cards for you using the 'LOVE' image just to show you that you can use it (if you choose) in more than just one way.

For this first one I simply printed my image out and then trimmed around the edges to create my square 'LOVE'. I then adhered it over a Rapsberry Fizz square Nestability. I stamped a polka dot background, using Polka Dots Basics, over my Hawaiian Shores cardstock. A bit of stitching around the edges, Raspberry Fizz ribbon and a white button complete this one.

If you would rather you can also trim each letter out, like I did on this second card, and arrange them in a completely different way. Completely up to you! I stamped my Hawaiian Shores cardstock again with polka dots and then added a strip of white and a Double Ended Banner. 'I love you!' is from Flower Fusion #6. More stitching and a few rhinestones were added to finish it off.

 

 Now onto the fun stuff...
