Happy Monday everyone! How was your weekend? Did you do anything fun and exciting? We had a nice, relaxing one here...just the kind I like. My book club is reading the series of books by Stieg Larsson and I was able to curl up and finish the second one, The Girl Who Played with Fire, Friday night. Wow...GREAT books but very, very dark. After finishing the book I decided to watch the movie on the first book, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and then attempted to watch the second movie last night but Netflix wasn't cooperating with me. I'm going to try again tonight! Then I'll move onto the third. Have any of you been reading these? I've heard that the third isn't quite as good as the first two. Just curious what you're thoughts are.
How about a card for today...
I combined two sets, Sweet Hearts and Very Square Sentiments from Mint Motif, for todays card. Pretty much everything you see on this card can be found at i {hearts} papers... the twine, the flowers and the patterned paper and of course the stamps.
The lids of the jars were colored with a Copic marker. After paper piecing them together I added all the final little details. :)
I hope you all enjoy your Monday!
Supplies:
Stamps: Sweet Hearts, Very Square Sentiments (Mint Motif); Ink: True Black (Papertrey Ink); Cardstock: white, Kraft, Raspberry Fizz (Papertrey Ink); Patterned Paper: Soup Staples (Jillibean Soup); Accents: Black Licorice twine (Divine Twine), flowers (Zva Creative), button (Papertrey Ink); Tools: EK Success border punch

Super cute card! I love those little jars. I just finished the third book and I actually liked it better than the second one. In the second one I didn't find any of the characters to have any redeeming qualities but they do in the third. :) Are the movies in English?

Darling little jars! Yes I have read all three of those books and I couldn't put them down, although the third one had a lot of "explaining" of the different intertwined agencies and all the foreign names that I could have done without but I am looking forward to watching the movie. It's a snow day here so maybe I will try to do that today.

Your card is super-cute! It looks clean and simple but packs a huge impact. TFS.

Hi Melissa
The third book is definitely better than the second as there is proper ending and answers a lot of questions. I loved them all and the movies were great too.
Love all of your work and stamp sets too!
Cheers
Mary

Lovely card. I read all the books and found the third one going over some of the events of the previous two, presumably for new readers or for those who had left a gap. It was a good read however, and rounded everything off well. Such a shame the author died, and rather scary to think that he was targetted in the same way as one of his characters.

Hi Melissa...just loving your cards. I had to chime in on the Millennium Trilogy...I thought the first book was good/intriguing, enough that it made me go on to the 2nd book and I thought that was was just okay. I loved the 3rd book and thought that was the best of the three! Just my opinion, I guess. I just added the three movies to my Netflix last night so I'll have to give them a try now. Can't wait.
