Hey everyone! Just popping on to share a few pics with you all tonight!
First a shot of our backyard from this past weekend. Isn't it pretty?! We had about 6 inches on the ground Friday morning but it didn't last. The past few days the temps have been in the high 50's, low 60's so it's all melted away. Crazy weather, I tell ya! The weatherman said just a dusting so we didn't expect to wake up to any accumulation but it really was a nice sight first thing in the morning!
As you all know from my recent posts I've been painting like a mad women. I still haven't finished the foyer yet...been procrastinating about that one, plus I've had a few other things I need to get accomplished before I tackle that again. I did get all the walls painted except for the tall one though and this is the shot of above our foyer coat closet. So, so happy with it. Willow Leaf is the name and I just LOVE it!! I don't know how many paint swatches I brought home and looked through before I chose this one...I know it was A LOT!! Whoever says picking paint colors is an easy task is so wrong. And what about our name decal above the door...one of my new favorites in the house. I had been waiting to finish the foyer before ordering it and I was finally able to. The shop, Vinyl Letting, on Etsy is where I found it. I plan on purchasing a few more different ones for around the house. I love that they aren't permanent and can be taken down super easy!!
Before I share this next picture I have to give a little shout out to my friend, Wendy. Before meeting her I had never heard of anyone calling their half-bath a 'powder room'...maybe in the movies but never in person or from anyone I knew. Wendy always, always called her half-bath a powder room and I think I chuckled everytime I heard her say it. It just sounded so ritzy to me, like we should be sipping tea out of fine china with fancy white gloves and nibbling on crumpets...then we excuse ourselves to use the powder room. And now look at me...I have a half-bath and I'm calling it the same. I'm just going to have to find myself another vinyl decal ....this one saying 'THE POWDER ROOM'.
It was so hard to get a good shot of the room due to the lighting but you get the idea. Jamaica Bay was the color of this one. I was a bit leary when I first started painting...it was a lot darker than I had thought it would be but it turned out great! Very cheery and bright!
That wraps it up for tonight! Need to get dinner in the overn...homemade pizzas! MMM
Til next time....

What beautiful snowy scene! I grew up in the snow on both coasts and while I'm thankful to not have to shovel a driveway or defrost pipes as an adult, I do have many, many fond memories of my childhood spent listening to the radio for snow days from school, making snow angels, and fun snowmen........now my glasses fogging up on the school bus, not so much. :> And I do love your paint colors, along with your fab family name design. I am in the process (have been for awhile....seems to be taking much longer than I had hoped!) of removing wallpaper from the hall bathroom (as a child, we called our down stairs bathroom or half bath a powder room as well....but, I had forgotten that since I haven't used that term in the last decade or so) and will be painting it a teal afterwards. Teal was never a color I thought I would paint a room, but I'm really looking forward to getting it up on the walls! :>

Wow I love the colors (not the snow color though, LOL). When you are done with your place can you come pick out colors for my house. I had color patch samples all over my living room for 2 years. I could never decide so I painted over them the same old yucky cream blech color that that wall was to start with. Someday! Hope all is well.

I can't help but think I've brought you over to "the dark side," what with your powder room and all! :) The colors are beautiful.
We miss you guys terribly!

Your artistic talent is apparent even in the colors you choose for your home!

Love the colors. Just wanted to pass on a company that makes tons of those vinyl wall sayings, many that are very appropriate for a "powder room". They can be personalized and made in any size or color. I have several in my home, 'give much gather often greet many' is above the patio door in our kitchen, and always get comments on them.
uppercase living.....check it out.

I love the paint colors and your vinyl sign, Melissa. I've got to get one of those! You can keep the snow though. I'd be happy to never see any of that again!
Hey, I had dinner with one of your friends the other night, Tisha O'Neill. We're both members of a playgroup here in Columbus, GA. We were at a birthday dinner for another friend, who I had made a card for. Tisha asked me where I get my supplies, and she mentioned that she had a friend who designs for Papertrey. I told her that Papertrey was my favorite company and was so excited that I "knew" you! I realized after we talked that I probably sounded like your stalker. Ha! :) Anyway, I do love reading your blog and seeing all of your creations. I think I've got all of your stamp sets and love them all (I'm really not a stalker, just a fan)!!!

Love the new header- it's so clean and totally screams Melissa! Have you ever thought of making headers for other people for $? I love your style...if you ever do, I'm a customer! :)
Goodness, I LOVE both of the paint colors! They are gorgeous!

Love both room colors. What fun to pick out paint and see your personality and style come through. And love the scene out the window. Enjoy.
