Hello from Colorado

Hi everyone! Thought I'd take a minute and pop in to say hi. Things are going well here in CO. Weather has been beautiful and the scenery is just amazing. We went up in the mountains a few days ago and took some pictures. The pictures really don't do the scenery justice....seeing it in person is so much better but I thought I'd share with you all.

 

 

 

I look a bit freaked out, don't I? This little viewing area was literally hanging over the edge of the cliff and the drop down was unreal. I went down fast enough to take the pic and was back up!

A few of my favorite spring things

Run, run, run....doesn't it seem like that's all we do before a big trip. I haven't packed, still have laundry to do, need to pick up prescriptions for the trip, B has his doctor appointment, I need to pick up essentials (shampoo, conditioner, hairspray etc) and yet here I am sitting at my desk blogging! I'll be scrambling later to get it all done.

Just thought I'd pop on and share a few of my favorite things for spring!

  

I have two pair of these Rocket Dog flip flops and absolutely LOVE them! They are the most comfortable things. I'd love to have a pair in every color!! 

  

I've always loved Fossil products but it wasn't til recently that I came across their website when I was on the search for a new handbag. I instantly fell in love with just about all their handbags. I haven't purchased one just yet but plan to sometime soon...gotta save my pennies!

  

Another thing I LOVE (I love a lot, don't I?) is smocked shirts. Tight at the bottom...loose around the mid section to hide all those girly imperfections. I found this one at American Eagle and just had to have it. It's flowered and it's pink....what more could I ask?

Ok so that's all from me today! Mom and I are heading out bright and early tomorrow to visit my brother and his family. I'll be gone almost 2 weeks but will be checking in every now and then on his computer. I'm sure I'll have lots of pictures to share.

Happiness

Well good Monday morning! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. They always go by so fast, don't they? I spent Saturday afternoon digging through our clothes in storage. I don't know what I was thinking when I packed things away last fall. I put all our spring/summer clothes away thinking we'd be in our own house by this time. Now with the warmer weather here I had to get in there and pull everything out, see what the  kids have outgrown and what I need to buy them for the summer.

I have another card for you today. This one is using the set With Sympathy which I haven't had to chance to play with very much but I absolutely adore.  

 

I kept the base very crisp and clean just using stampers select white cardstock. I love the white...makes the images just POP! Ripe Avacado, Sweet Blush and Berry Sorbet were my colors of choice.

 

I stamped the envelope as well and then added a bit of shimmer to the flowers on the card with Star Dust stickles!

Another beautiful day here today. Hi of 65! I've got my flip flops on and I'm ready to go. Love flip flop season!!

Happily Ever After

Was Susan not absolutely amazing!? I've watched the video 6 times now and each time she has made me cry. Not only is she a beautiful singer but a beautiful person as well...I'd love to give her a big hug. You go Susan...I'd listen to you sing anytime!

A couple of weeks ago K's teacher asked me to make her a wedding card for an upcoming wedding she was attending. She wanted pink, mossy green and vanilla for colors so I created 3 so she would have a variety to pick from.

 

Here is a picture of all 3 together!

 

For this first card I used a piece of patterned paper that was in my scrap folder and I thought the color was perfect for what she wanted. But for the life of me...I can't remember which company it's from. If it comes to me I'll post it later or if anyone knows please feel free to let me know!!

 

I used Wishing You for this next card and stamped the tulips inside my classic circle Nestability. I used my Fiskars Threading Water punch for the border along the bottom and the ribbon tag dies for my sentiment. I used the same sentiment from the Favor It Weddings set on all 3 of the cards.

 

I used my Guidelines set for this last card. Spring Moss & Sweet Blush were the colors! For a little sparkle I added tiny pink rhinestones to the centers of the circles. Love those little details!

So, which one do you think she chose? Do you have a favorite out of all 3? We'll see if you all have the same taste as K's teacher and myself because the one she chose is the one I would have chose! I'll post which one it is tomorrow!

Good Monday morning everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful Easter yesterday. We had a nice, quiet day here. An egg hunt and an early dinner with my parents and grandparents and the rest of the day was spent relaxing.

The carb counting is going really great. Tons better than I expected. A few of you recommended the book, The Calorie King, and I am so glad you did. Mom and I went and did some shopping on Friday and I stopped into Barnes & Noble and picked it up. They also have a website HERE if anyone is interested. I'm another one who would highly recommend it...not only for counting carbs but if you are also trying to watch your fat intake. It also has an extensive list of restaurants & fast food places with their menu items and the fat, calorie and carb counts...I will be taking it everywhere I go!

Before I get into todays card I had to mention Nichole's blog. Have you seen her post today (silly question...I'm sure you have)? Tea for Two...OMG! I am already totally and completely in love with this set! I have a thing for cute little teapots and can't wait to get my hands on this set and create with it. I also have TONS of family & friends who drink tea so this will be a must have for me. It's funny, she also mentioned that starting the 15th Papertrey will also be carrying Copic Trio packages. Can I just say that this couldn't have happened at a better time for me. Yesterday (as part of my relaxing) I was searching high and low over the net looking for Copics and which ones would work best with the Papertrey colors. I made a list of the ones I wanted but didn't end up buying them...Thank Goodness! Now I won't have to wonder if I'm picking the right ones or not...Papertrey has done it for us!! Woohoo!!

OK- so now we'll move onto todays card.

 

I've always had such a hard time with creating sympathy cards but I love how this particular card turned out. It just looks soothing to me with the color combo. I used the beautiful set, With Sympathy, with these colors...Ocean Tides, Dark Chocolate & Ripe Avacado.

 

I added Star Dust stickles as a final step to finish it off!

Sending Happiness

The big, bright yellow thing that we thought we'd never see again is out and shining bright this morning! And boy does it feel good. It just seems like the day always starts so much better when you wake up to sunlight bursting through your windows...don'tcha think? Lots to do on the agenda this morning. I have all the wedding invites that I had been working on complete...stamped, addressed and sealed and ready to mail off today! One more 'to do' checked off my list!

     

I just love this little guy from Rubber Soul! He comes from one of my most favorite of their sets...It's Your Day. The patterned paper is from Basic Greys Sultry collection. I used Polka Dot Basics for on the strip of Dark Chocolate. This was such a simple card to create but it makes me smile with the bright colors!

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge - Week 3

I made it just in time to share my card for this weeks Raspberry Suite color challenge! The colors were so FAB to work with....very girly, which I just LOVE!!

I used With Sympathy for the flowers and stamped them randomly here and there using Pure Poppy, Berry Sorbet & Sweet Blush. The sentiment is from Wishing You and is stamped in Dark Chocolate along with the flower stems. The butterfly is from Martha Stewart and was embossed using the D'vine swirl Cuttlebug embossing folder. I also did a little light inking with Dark Chocolate around the edge of the vanilla cardstock.

On another note...quite a few of you have asked which Prima flower I had used on the Forever Friends card HERE. I have searched high and low and high and low again on the net trying to find the exact ones I used but have had no luck. I did purchase them at Michaels if that helps any of you and this is what the package looks like....

 

There are 6 flowers total in the package ( I used 2 of them )!
