You're Sweet

Good morning! We have a fresh layer of new snow this morning.....roughly a foot! We're all unburied for now and hoping we don't get anymore anytime soon. The more we get the more time we have to wait to start building and I can't wait much longer!!! We didn't think the kids would have school today but they did and lets just say they weren't too happy when we woke them up. They were hoping for a snowday! I've already been to the dentist this morning for a cleaning and now I'm back home with fresh pot of coffee brewing and laundry in the washer and dryer. The sun is shining bright and I'm ready to start stamping!

  

Here is a card using Berry Sorbet and Polka Dot Parade patterned paper. These colors just make me happy, happy!! The cupcake stamp is from Rubber Soul and was stamped using Noir Palette ink. I colored it in using my Copic markers and then trimmed it out and used 3 dimensional adhesive and placed it on the front of my classic square Nestability. The sentiment is this stamp from Rubber Soul. I used these rhinestones from Heidi Swapp for my border and underneath my sentiment.

With all my heart

 

Just a quick post today....gotta pick the kiddos up from school! How about another Rubber Soul card! I love the color combo on this card.....green and pink....my two faves! The heart image is one of the new Valentine stamps that Rubber Soul has out. I stamped it using Frost White Colorbox ink onto Berry Sorbet cardstock and then trimmed them out. The patterned paper is from Papertrey Inks Polka Dot Parade collection. I used my EK Success corner rounder punch to create my scalloped border along the bottom. With a little Sweet Blush ribbon and a button it was complete.

Another snowstorm is in the forecast for us tomorrow. We're expected to get anywhere between 6 and 12 inches of snow....does it ever end?! For those of you who never see snow....if I could I would send you some of ours....GLADLY!! One nice thing about snowstorms....it's the perfect chance to stay inside and create all day!!

Hearts that love...

I'm late! Sorry for the delay in posting those Rubber Soul cards. We have been busy little beavers the past few days with the house. I don't think we fully realized (even with everyones warnings and cautions) just how much there is involved in homebuilding! We've got the floor plan picked out, the septic and land work guy is down, tomorrow we have a meeting to get our mailbox number and permits.....it's all coming together. We're getting there....slowly but surely!

Not only have I been busy with the house but also with a new look for my blog! Sorry if it was looking a bit messy the past few days. Before I even had my new look completed I had accidentally deleted my previous blog design....don't ask me how I managed that one but I did. So I was rushing trying to finish the new one so I could upload. A new look for a new year at Papertrey Ink! SO extremely EXCITED about this year!! Have you been checking out Nichole's blog? Be sure to....lots going on for the 2nd anniversary!

You may be wondering why I chose the blog banner I did....the back end of a punch bug! LOL! Well, my sweet daughter is absolutely IN LOVE with the VW bugs. She loves, loves, loves them! She says when she gets older that's the car she wants.....a lime green, convertible buggy! I can so see her driving one too! Thankfully we have a few years to go before that happens. So the new look is for her!!

So onto the card....

 

After receiving my box of goodies from Rubber Soul I couldn't wait to dive in and use some of the new products. I thought first I'd use this heart flower stamp. 

 

This verse is from Target Love. I thought it worked perfectly with the new stamp.

I used the following Copics to color in my flowers:

R29- hearts

G99- stems

Seeing stars

Well hello everyone! I hope everyone is enjoying their week and staying warm. The temps here have been pretty chilly which has required lots of layers and lots of coffee to keep warm!

I have a few cards to share today. Remember one of my goals for this year was to finish using a complete sheet of patterned paper and to not throw the leftovers in my folder of scraps. So far, so good! I came across this sheet of Scenic Route paper and thought I'd play around with that and create as many cards as I could.

Are you ready? There are quite a few pictures so grap a cup of coffee!

 

What I loved about this particular patterned paper was that it was double sided....one side stars and the other black and white polka dots. Who doesn't love polka dots?

  

'You did it' is from Papertrey Inks Simple Little Things.

 

This is probably my favorite card out of all of the ones I created. The sentiment on this card is from the Clearly Wordsworth set Birthday Magic.

 

Amazing what a little bling can do to a card!

 

For this one I scored the base of the card and then added all my embellishments, dimensionals and bling. 

 

So simple to create! My second favorite!

 

This one is more simple than the one before. Took me no time at all to throw this together.

 

A button from Foofala and sentiment from PTI's Faux Ribbon set and it was complete!

 

Here is another like the one above. I added a row of silver beads and used a Making Memories metal rim tag for my sentiment.

 

So this last card is the result of all the leftover scraps I had after creating the first 5 cards. No sense of letting those little pieces go to waste, right?

 

After cutting my star out I covered the top with dimensional glaze to make it shiny!

So there you have it! 6 cards total with just one sheet of paper! I feel like I've accomplished something. Sounds funny, I know, but usually when I pull out a sheet of patterned paper I only use a small section and the rest is forgotten after I've stashed it away in my leftover folder. If I continue to do this (which I will) I will have no forgotten pieces and will instead end up with a variety of handmade cards ready to be given out. I LOVE that!!

Coffee with a Friend

 

Good Thursday morning all! It's a blustery -12 degrees here this morning. It hasn't been quite this cold in awhile and I will be glad to see it go when it does! I don't mind cold weather....just not so cold that you have to be dressed like the abominable snowman when you go out. BRRRR.....

So how about warming up with a card made from Warm Happiness. I am an die hard coffee drinker so I just had to have this set. The funny thing is I use to HATE coffee and would only drink tea. Just the smell of it made me nauseous. And now I drink it ALL the time thanks to my husband...he converted me!

We're off to make some progress on our home building this morning. FINALLY! Trying to get everyone lined up so once early spring hits we can start! I am so beyond excited about the whole thing and can't wait to be in and start decorating and making it our own. And of course...I've got big plans for my stamp/craft room!

Hello friends! I hope you all are enjoying your weekend....what is left of it anyway! Thought I'd pop on this evening and share a Rubber Soul card I created a couple of weeks ago. Valentines is right around the corner so you will most likely be seeing a lot of these lovey dovey cards! Target Love was the set I used for this one....isn't this set sweet! I had a lot of fun playing around with this one. The picture is a bit blurry (still trying to master the perfect picture) but if you click on it you will be able to view it much clearer!

 

PTI's Pure Poppy & Sweet Blush was my color combo. Pink and red together.....no better Valentine colors than that!

Happy New Year to you all! I'm a little late in wishing you all that. Kiddos are back in school and things are getting back to normal. I thoroughly enjoyed Christmas vacation with them. We didn't do much but relax, play games and enjoy being together. I can't believe we are now into 2009. No resolutions for me this year. I tend to fail on those so I'm going to set goals instead. I've got a few and I'm bound and determined to get them accomplished! Full speed ahead.....

One of my many creative goals for this year is to use up what I have on hand before buying new products....specifically patterned paper. And not only use what I have but use the WHOLE sheet and not just a part of it and then stash the rest away. I have a really bad habit of forgetting about it and then it never gets used.

 

I pulled out this sheet of Making Memories paper and went to town. I ended up finishing 5 cards with the one sheet....all different!  This one uses Mod Nature and Women's Collection from Rubber Soul. Two of my absolute favorite sets!
