The first day of winter and the snow is justa fallin' here. 10 to 15 inches of the beautiful white fluffy stuff expected. Anyone else getting snow?
It's been complete craziness around here the past couple of weeks. We've known for quite some time that Kacey was going to need braces. She had her first appointment with the orthodontist a few weeks back and talked about our plan of action as far as her teeth go. The first step was having 4 teeth extracted. Last Tuesday was the big day and I was a little...ok A LOT worried that she was going to totally freak out. Boy, did she ever surprise me. She sat right in the chair...the doc gave her the novacaine and they pulled the 4 teeth out just like that. She didn't flinch, cry, hesitate...nothing. I was so proud of her! She is completely excited to get braces and wants colored ones...not too sure about that one but we'll see!
I'm happy to say that all of my holiday preparations are just about finished. Gifts are all wrapped except for a few small ones. Mom and I spent the entire day yesterday baking. We made peanut butter balls, needhams, banana bread and lemon poppy seed bread. Mmm mmm. All wonderful for a diabetics health. Oh well....I don't do it often and enjoy eating a little more than usual during the holidays. I'll get back on track after the 1st. We also tried our hand at peanut brittle. That one didn't fare so well and we ended up throwing the batch away. Maybe we'll try that again next year!
I was able to squeeze in a little stamping time after our baking yesterday and this was the end result. I had purchased a roll of red felt ribbon for decorating my packages for Christmas and had a little piece left over. I ran them through my Cuttlebug using the flower dies and then ran them through again using my swiss dots embossing folder. I used a sentiment from Heartfelt Basics and stamped that onto my Nestability tag tie. The leaves on the flowers I created using my EK Success heart punch.
In case I don't get the chance to get back on before Christmas is here I want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas. I hope you all have a blessed Holiday and are able to spend them with the ones you love.
