Have you been Naughty or Nice?

Happy Wednesday everyone! I've got a busy day ahead of me but wanted to pop on and post another card real quick. A dreaded dentist appointment awaits me this morning...ugh...not looking forward to that one bit. Just a check up and cleaning. Then I've got last minute items to get for tomorrows dinner and I'm hoping to squeeze a little Christmas shopping in as well.

 

Do you ever post a project and as you sit here and look at it wish you had done something else to it? Well, I'm feeling that way about this one....I feel like I should have done something to the kraft card....a little stamping, embossing...something. Oh well...create and learn!

 

This little snowman is from Rubber Soul. He's stamped using Frost Colorbox ink onto an oval Nestability and then inked around the edges. The patterned paper is also from Rubber Soul....Winter Soulstice Collection. The Naughty or Nice rub-on is from Making Memories.

Here we are two days before Thanksgiving! Can you believe the Holidays are here! Seems like after Halloween comes the rest of the year just seems to fly by. Probably because we are all feeling rushed to get all the Holiday shopping in. I LOVE this time of year! Absolutely LOVE it! I pulled out my Christmas cd's and started listening to them yesterday (I'm a bit late this year....usually the day after Halloween I've got them playing.) As far as the Christmas shopping goes....well, lets just say I've started but still have a long way to go. Is anyone braving Black Friday? I think I'm staying close to home that day. My days of braving those massive crowds are long over!

While listening to my Christmas cd's yesterday I created a few cards and thought I'd share one of them with you today........

 

Is this reindeer from Rubber Soul not the cutest little guy! This card was another one of my simple designs that I love to mass produce. I simply started by using my swiss dots embossing folder on the bottom portion of my white card. Next, I used my scalloped square Nestablity and stamped 'Rudolph' in the center.

 

To finish him off I punched a tiny red circle and attached it to the tip of his nose and added a little glitter!  A little ribbon and a button and he was complete!

A few of my favorite things

Howdy everyone! Hope you are all enjoying your week. With this months Papertrey Ink release over things are finally starting to wind down here. I was able to get out and get a little Christmas shopping done today. Winter is fast approaching here in Maine! We woke up this morning with the thermometer reading about 17. YIKES! We saw our first little snow flurry yesterday. Just a few flakes here and there but it's just the beginning. I've unpacked the winter coats and it won't be long until I'm unpacking the snow boots as well!

I took some time yesterday and created two more cards using the new Men of Life set. I pulled out some of my very favorite PTI products.....Polka Dot Parade patterned paper, Aqua Mist cardstock and Cuttlebugs Swiss Dots embossing folder.

 

When I saw this card that Nichole made I was instantly inspired to try using the Cuttlebug embossing folder on my circle Nestability.

 

I embossed the top and bottom of the circle leaving just enough space between the two to stamp my sentiment. Worked out perfectly!

 

This next card I created using my square scalloped Nestability. I think these make such cute little notecards to throw into a gift bag.  

  

Again I used my Swiss Dots folder. This time I used it for my sail! A nice little touch!

That's all from here tonight. We're off to sign the kiddos up for basketball. They both want to try out this year....should be fun!

Last peeks - Men of Life & Heartfelt Basics

Here are my last little peeks of Men of Life and Heartfelt Basics. Thank you again for such a warm response to my two newest designs!! For those that are interested they are available starting November 15th on the Papertrey Ink website!!

 

This first card I'm going to show you was so super simple to make. Took me no time at all and sometimes we all need those really quick designs. I used PTI's gold shimmer cardstock as my base and then cut a separate piece to stamp on.

On that separate piece I made little squares by scoring the cardstock every 3/4". That allowed me just enough room to stamp each anchor and patterned X.  This card uses a little of all of my sets. Mom is from Women of Life, the & is from Women of Life Additions, Dad, the anchor and X are from Men of Life.

  

And the inside sentiment is from Heartfelt Basics!

For this next card I used the 3 small circles from Men of Life to create a strip of patterned paper.

And this is what it ends up looking like!

Heartfelt Basics - For a Special Lady

I can hardly wait til the release when you will all be able to see these two sets in full. Only two more days! Today I thought I'd bring out my very first stamp set...Women of Life and use that along with one of my newest sets....Heartfelt Basics. I truly think that you will all love the fact that these two sets, along with Men of Life, are all so versatile and work perfectly with one another.

   

I used Spellbinders ribbon tag die set for my sentiment. There are a few sentiments included in this set that will work perfectly with these dies. Not only that but the words from Men of Life will also.

   

Again, I wanted to carry my outside in so I stamped my dots from Polka Dot Basics in the center of the inside. The sentiment is 3 separate stamps. Love and laughter are just a couple of the words you could pick from to complete this phrase.

 

Using my Limitless Labels set and one of the flowers from Women of Life I created these Nugget treats. With Love is also part of the set!

Men of Life - Fathers Day Gift Ensemble

How is everyone today!? What do you think of what you've seen so far?! I hope you are enjoying all the little sneek peeks! 

For todays peek I created a little gift ensemble for Fathers Day using Men of Life!  This set includes a total of 27 images and will be available for purchase through the Papertrey Ink website starting November 15th!

Let's get started....

   

You'll notice in todays pictures that the pattern in the picture above is the same pattern that is in the sail. Remember....coordination!!! When designing this set I wanted to have the ability to create the same pattern for my background paper and that's where this separate stamp comes in. This one little stamp will give you so many design possibilities.

 

After stamping my card base above I cut a piece of Lemon Tart cardstock to 5" X 2.5". Then using my SU! word window punch I punched along the inside leaving a little space on either side.

 

I then ran it through my Cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots embossing folder.

 

Next, you will need 2 pennies (nickels, dimes...whichever) and a piece of 3D adhesive. With a penny on either side of the cardstock attach them with the 3D adhesive.

 

I then used more 3D adhesive and attached the whole thing to a piece of white cardstock.

 

I stamped Happy Fathers Day Dad onto a strip of white cardstock and then put a glue dot on the top of the left side...just on the end.

 

I then slid it in through the center of the right side and placed it under the penny. (You can also attach this prior to adhering the yellow cardstock to the white. I tend to do things a bit more difficult...or sometimes just plain to forget to do a step. LOL)

Heartfelt Basics Day 4

I first just want to say thank you all! I've read all your comments here, on Nichole's blog and in e-mail and am so happy the you are all excited about Men of Life, Heartfelt Basics and the new Men of Life patterned paper collection. The paper was a first for me and I am so thankful that Nichole asked me to participate in designing it. I'm thrilled with the way it turned out and feel overjoyed at adding this to my list of firsts!!

Now, I mentioned yesterday how important it is for me to have the inside of my cards express exactly the way I feel. Not only that but I also love for the inside of my card to reflect the outside in color and design. It's all about coordination for me. Not only in my card making but in my everyday life.

 

For this particular card I used all three ... Women of Life, Men of Life and Heartfelt Basics! Daughter is, of course, from Women of Life. For my is from Men of Life and I'll show you another sentiment from Heartfelt Basics below.

 

The leaves on my card I created by simply using my heart punch from EK Success.

 

Isn't it amazing the things you can create using different tools you have lying around!?

 

And here is another sentiment from Heartfelt Basics. I LOVE this and know I will be using this over and over again. I have so many wonderful family and friends that bless my life and am so happy that I now have this stamp to let them know how much they mean to me. Heartfelt Basics has 15+ sentiment combinations and they all use the same fonts as the ones from Women and Men of Life!

Men of Life #5

The 10th has finally arrived and I am SO EXCITED! I have so much to share with you all this month. Not only do I have Men of Life being released on the 15th but also Heartfelt Basics....a sentiment set that coordinates perfectly with both Men of Life and Women of Life!

Let's get started....

I pulled out my seldom used Xyron machine for my first project and thought I'd make a set of magnets for Brody to play with.

 

I stamped my outlined sail onto a piece of patterned paper and then trimmed them out. After trimming I attached them to a piece of white cardstock and then

 

ran them through my Xyron machine. The white cardstock was sturdier than just the patterned paper and made it easier to slip through the machine. After they were run through I trimmed them out (as you can see in the picture below).

 

There is an anchor that is part of the set that I ran through the machine as well. After running it through I used a Marvy circle punch to punch each one out. The magnet is a bit thick so I had to put some muscle into it but in the end they turned out perfectly.

 

I also used Simple Alphabet to create the AHOY magnet.

 

 

Now for the inside of the card....

 

There are numerous sentiment combos included in Heartfelt Basics. I love the fact that they work so perfectly with Men and Women of Life. I'm all about coordinating and making sure the inside of my card says just how I'm feeling!

 

Always and Loved are two separate stamps!
