You ladies are all simply WONDERFUL! I have sat and read all the comments on my blog and the ones left on Nichole's blog and all I can say is WOW! The support and warm welcome you have given me is so appreciated!! I can never say thank you enough. I look forward to sharing this adventure with you all!!
Are you ready for project 2 using 'Women of Life'? I wanted to do something a little different to show that not only can a stamp set be used just for cards but also as home decor. I started with your basic white wooden frame. The front I covered with paper from Making Memories Chelsea collection. For the inside of the frame I stamped the flower stems onto Stampers Select White Cardstock. If you notice the stems on this project are a bit longer than the ones on my last one. AHA...you say!! All I did to create that is placed a scrap piece of paper on either side of the stem I wanted to make longer that way only that one stem would stamp and the others would stamp onto the scrap. ( I should have taken a picture for you all....if anyone needs a visual just let me know and I'll post one.)
After the stems were stamped I moved onto the flowers. I stamped the two smaller flowers and then used my ticket punch from SU! on each corner. I then adhered it to a strip of Bazzill cardstock and then that on top of another piece of the Making Memories patterned paper. I added a tiny rhinestone to each corner and then placed that behind the glass along with a photo of my beautiful daughter!
I cut three flowers out and placed them on the outside of the glass for a different, more 3D look. For the centers I used Liquid Applique and heat set it so it would 'puff' out. I stamped 'Daughter' onto stampers select and then used one of the circle stamps from the Borders and Corners set and made a border around. I then placed it inside a Making Memories Circle Rim Tag. That was then placed in the center of a Mega Scalloped Circle I punched out. I added a tiny rhinestone in each scallop and added a strip of ric rac for a final touch! You could create this using a photo of any of the women in your life!
I have another project to share with you tomorrow so be sure to stop by!
