Polka Dot Parade #4 - Day 5

 

Welcome back for the final day of the Papertrey Ink countdown for this month. Thanks so much for visiting with me over the past five days and for sharing your comments with me on my newest set, Polka Dot Parade #4. Before I get to todays cards let me give you a little recap...

 

Polka Dot Parade #4:

**The release party starts at 7am tomorrow morning in the Papertrey Ink forum and all of the new products will go live on the Papertrey Ink website tomorrow, the 15th at 10PM.**

For this first card I used the Polka Dot Parade #4 coordinating die collection and die cut the stroller out of some colorful patterned paper that I had on hand (from Martha Stewart). After die cutting it I trimmed the wheels and handle off and then adhered it to my cardstock. I then stamped the wheels and handle in Pure Poppy using the images in the set.

'Congratulations on the birth of your' is from Inside & Out: Baby. I stamped 'BABY', from Polka Dot Parade #4, in Pure Poppy, added a die cut Sweet Blush strip of Rickrack and an Aqua Mist button to finish it.

For the second card of the day I used the same patterned paper as I used on the first card and die cut the letters you see using the Block Alphabet Upper die collection. I stamped my bear in Pure Poppy and then adhered the letters on either side to spell out 'BABY'.

 

I added the polka dot belly and paws to my bear as well as a die cut bow. Lastly, I stamped the sentiment, from Bundle of Love.

Polka Dot Parade #4 - Day 4

Welcome! Day four of the Papertrey Ink countdown has arrived which means we are one day closer to release night. YAY! I have two more cards for you today using the newest Polka Dot Parade set...one a baby card and one card that could be used for a child. Thought I'd show how this set could be used for more than just baby cards. ;)

Let's start with a birthday card. I kept everything pretty clean and simple for today...not much layering or extra embellishing. I started by stamping my bear in Orange Zest ink and then stamped his paws and belly in Aqua Mist. I mixed a few different sets in with the new Polka Dot Parade #4 set. The balloon is from Heart-2-Heart #2. After stamping the balloon next to my bear I adhered a small die cut bow to the balloon string that is from the Polka Dot Parade #4 die collection.

 'Happy Birthday' is from Think Big Favorites #12 and 'You're one great kid!' is from Way to Go, Kiddo!

Next is a colorful baby card. This card reminds me of The Care Bears from when I was young. Remember those? Again, I started with a white card base and stamped my bears along the side in a variety of colors...Sweet Blush, Hibiscus, Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores, Orange Zest and Simple Chartreuse.

In the centers of all of my bears I stamped a tiny heart which can be found in any of the Heart-2-Heart stamp sets. The 'Cute & cuddly' sentiment is from Baby Button Bits and 'BABY' is from Polka Dot Parade #4. And lastly a Hawaiian Shores button was attached!

Polka Dot Parade #4 - Day 3

 

**Happy Mother's Day to all of you wonderful Mom's out there!**

 

I'm back...phew! All I can say is thank Goodness for my husband, otherwise I would still be at a loss as to what my computer problem was! :) Thank you all for understanding my missing blog post yesterday and thank you for visiting my Facebook Page to see my projects.

This Papertrey Ink release is quite amazing, isn't it? I'm loving all of the new sets that are coming out. All of the new products you've been seeing, as well as my newest set...Polka Dot Parade #4, will be available starting the 15th on the Papertrey Ink website.

Are you ready for a few more baby cards?! I hope so...let's jump right in...

 

I used the sweet teddy bear and it's coordinating die for this first card. After stamping her in Raspberry Fizz I adhered her to the front of my white cardstock. The bottom of my white cardstock was die cut using the Medium Scallop border die. My sentiment includes four separate words which allow you to create a variety of different sayings for your projects. Here are just a few other sentiments you can create using the words in this set...

• sweet BABY
• sweet little BABY
• new BABY
• welcome BABY
• new little BABY
• hello BABY
• hello little BABY
• hello new BABY

and more!!

I added a doily underneath and attached a strip of Sweet Blush ribbon, Lemon Tart dotted ribbon and a Lemon Tart button before attaching it all to my card front.

This mini 3x4 card features the stroller image from Polka Dot Parade #4 as well as images from a couple other sets of mine that were released awhile back. The sun and clouds are from the Heart-2-Heart #6 stamp set and die collection and the grass, flowers and sentiment are from Hanging Out.

Up next is another girly baby card. I started by die cutting a tag using the Tag Sale #1 die and then stamped the word 'BABY' down the front using Lemon Tart, Sweet Blush and Raspberry Fizz ink.  

I die cut my bear and stamped her in Lemon Tart and then stamped her belly and paws in Raspberry Fizz. Love those separate belly and paw pieces!! I added stitching along the Raspberry Fizz strips using the Sew Simple Borders Mini stamp set. And lastly, I added a few layered flowers...the white and pink ones are by Prima and the yellow one was die cut out of Harvest Gold felt using the Heart-2-Heart #7 die.

Polka Dot Parade #4 - Day 2

Happy Saturday, my friends! Well, it looks like I've run into yet another problem with uploading my pictures to Typepad. I've been working on it since yesterday and am still not having any luck. :( 

I would still like to share my projects with you so I'm going to go ahead and upload them to my Just Dandy Page on Facebook so you all can take a peek at them there if you'd like.

Introducing Polka Dot Parade #4 - Day 1

Hello everyone! It's been quite awhile since I've seen you all...welcome! I have been such a bad blogger lately but I am back for this months Papertrey Ink countdown and have been looking forward to sharing my newest stamp set with you. Polka Dot Parade #4 is this months set and it features the polka dot word 'BABY' and a few sweet baby images. Here are the details ...

Polka Dot Parade #4:

• features 12 images

I used traditional baby colors for todays cards...Sweet Blush, Lemon Tart, Aqua Mist and Spring Moss. I started by stamping the teddy bear image (soooo love this little guy) across the bottom portion of my card using the colors I just mentioned. Next, I adhered a piece of Bitty Dot Basics patterned paper across the top and a strip of Aqua Mist ribbon. I then die cut the frame image from the My Mother, My Friend die collection and stamped my sentiment. There are a variety of different sentiments you will be able to create with this little set. I'll be showing you more of those over the next four days. To finish my first card off I die cut a couple of flowers using the Heart-2-Heart #7 die collection and stamped each one with thier coordinating Heart-2-Heart #7 stamp set. I adhered those to either side of my frame and then added Lemon Tart buttons to their centers.

Lots and lots of polka dots for you on card #2. I started with my white cardstock and stamped 'BABY' multiple times down the front using the same colors as on card #1. Above 'BABY' I stamped the word 'sweet'...included in the PDP #4 set. Next, I die cut a scalloped border using the medium scallop border die. That was stamped using the Polka Dot Basics stamp set and then adhered across my card front. I added a strip of pink rick rack and crocheted flowers that I had on hand and a couple of strips of Lemon Tart Satin Dot ribbon to complete it.

That is all I have for today but both Nichole and Betsy will be sharing projects with you using this new set. You won't want to miss it!

May 2013 Sneak Peek

Polka Dot Parade #3 - Day 4

Happy Saturday! I'm back with a fun retro card to share with you today using the new Polka Dot Parade set.

I've mixed a few sets up with the PDP #3 set to create this card. I cut 6 - 1/2" strips of cardstock out of the following colors...Pure Poppy, Orange Zest, Summer Sunrise, Simply Chartreuse, Hawaiian Shores and Plum Pudding. I adhered those on the front of my card to create my 'rainbow' effect. Next, I stamped RELAX in Smokey Shadow and 'It's your day!' just below it in the same color. 'Love' is from Heart-2-Heart #11 and so is the heart inside the tv. I die cut my tv using the coordinating die collection and then stamped it using Simply Chartreuse ink. To finish my card off I added a strip of glitter along the top and voila!!  

I love all of the positive feedback I've been getting about this little $5 set. Makes me happy, happy, happy! :) Thanks everyone! I hope you all have a fabulous day...thanks again for stopping in!

Polka Dot Parade #3 - Day 3

Hello everyone and welcome back for day three of the April Papertrey Ink countdown. I'm switching gears a bit today and sharing a more feminine card using the recliner image in this new set...Polka Dot Parade #3.

I started with my white card base and added a piece of Berry Sorbet patterned paper along the side. Next, I die cut two of the recliner images out of the same patterned paper. I love how you can create a mirror image of the chair using the die and the blank side of the patterned paper. After die cutting each chair I simply cut the legs and foot part off. I stamped the legs separately on the front of my Sweet Blush cardstock and then attached my chairs above. For the doilies laying over the arms of the chair I die cut the Postage die and cut it in two and attached half to each chair. I stamped three tiny flowers on each doily using the tiny flower image from Tree Tops. Lastly, I added my sentiment, from Heart-2-Heart #1, Lemon Tart ribbon & button and a tiny aqua flower.

Polka Dot Parade #3 - Day 2

Welcome back for day two of this months Papertrey Ink countdown. Keeping it pretty clean and simple for you today so let's get right to the cards.

I used the retro tv image once again for my first card stamping it across my card front in Aqua Mist, Ripe Avocado, Ocean Tides and Spring Moss. The little tv screen is a perfect spot for stamping some of those tiny Papertrey Ink images. I used Tiny Treats: Valentines for this card but you could use a number of other sets. Lastly, I stamped my sentiment which is three separate images.

I mixed a couple of sets up on this next card. I started by stamping the rug, from On My Couch Additions, in Aqua Mist and then moved onto to stamping my recliner. The little dog is from Tiny Treats: Valentine and was stamped onto Rustic Cream cardstock, colored in with Copics and then trimmed so he'd fit just above the chair. Next, I added a strip of Spring Moss cardstock that was stamped with 'RELAX'. 'Enjoy your special day' is from World's Greatest. And last but not least, I added an Aqua Mist button.

Polka Dot Parade #3 - Day 1

I am finally here with todays countdown post...so sorry for the delay today! Computers...jeesh! So glad my husband is computer savvy.

So, you've already seen a peek of this months Polka Dot Parade set and a few cards made using it on Nichole's blog as well as Erin's blog.

Here are the set details...

Polka Dot Parade #3:

• features 10 images - 4 recliner pieces, a retro tv, tv antennae, polka dot 'RELAX' and 3 extra sentiments

Up first is a colorful card using the retro tv in the set. I used Aqua Mist, Pure Poppy, Orange Zest and Ripe Avocado and stamped my tvs onto my white cardstock. In the center of each tv I stamped the word 'Dad' ...included in the set...in Smokey Shadow. I die cut one tv and antennae, stamped each one and then gave it a bit of dimension by adding foam adhesive. Lastly, I cut a strip of Ripe Avocado cardstock and then stamped that using the Background Basics: Woodgrain set.

For this next card I used the fun recliner image. This image includes four separate pieces...the chair, the legs, the foot piece and the recliner attachment leg ( there is probably a real name for that part but I can't think of it :). Since these pieces are all separate it allows you to stamp just the chair and legs if you want or you could stamp them all together to create your recliner.

I started with my white piece of cardstock and stamped the rug image, from On My Couch Additions, in Orange Zest. Next, I stamped my polka dot 'Relax' in Aqua Mist and then added the rest of my sentiment, 'Sit back and' in Smokey Shadow. After die cutting and stamping my recliner I attached it above my rug using more foam adhesive. Lastly, I added a bit of burlap to the side, some twine and an Orange Zest button.

Thanks for being patient with me today! I look forward to hearing your thoughts on this new set. I know a lot of people struggle with masculine cards (I'm one of them) but I'm hoping this little set will bring some inspiration when it comes to creating those types of projects! :)
