Happy Saturday, friends! I'm here today to share something new that will be happening at Papertrey Ink, the Stamp Designer Showcase. Each month some of the stamp designers will be revisiting an older set that they designed, inking it up and creating a few projects for you. This will help bring those older sets, that don't seem to get as much love, back to life! :)
Today I'm revisiting Sweet As Can Be. This is still one of my all time favorite sets that I have designed...it's just simple and sweet and I'm a big fan of simple and sweet. :)
To create this first card I started by stamping my Sweet Blush cardstock with one of the polka dot backgrounds from Polka Dot Basics. Next, on a piece of Stampers Select white, I stamped my cone and ice cream scoops from Sweet As Can Be. I used Spring Moss for the cone and Raspberry Fizz, Sweet Blush and Aqua Mist for the scoops. My sentiment, 'SWEET', was stamped using the Polka Dot Parade Alphabet set and 'as can be' is from Sweet As Can Be. The strip of Aqua Mist cardstock was stamped using the Sew Simple Borders set and the flags were die cut using the Double Ended Banner die.
Up next, I used the coordinating die collection and die cut my ice cream cone and scoop. They were stamped and then adhered to my white cardstock using dimensional adhesive. Along the bottom I stamped the lined border image from Be Happy. I also die cut two of those borders, stamped them and adhered them to the top and bottom of my white cardstock. To finish this card I added a Lemon Tart button and a leave, die cut and stamped from Heart-2-Heart #7.
And lastly for today is a fun and colorful birthday card for a special girl! Along the bottom of my card I stamped one of the backgrounds from Background Basics: Birthday Fun. My ice cream cone was stamped onto the white cardstock, then my sentiment and then 'JULIA', which was stamped using the Fresh Alphabet stamp set. A bit of glitter, a button and ribbon complete this one.
I hope I've inspired you just a tad to pull this set back out and show it some love. Not only does it create sweet birthday cards but is perfect for creating summer-y projects. Summer...something I'm dreaming a lot about lately and I'm sure you are too. ;)
Thanks a ton for stopping by for a visit. I hope you all have a fabulous Saturday!
